Welcome to Villa Jammin' Gecko, an exquisite oceanfront estate nestled among tropical trees and vibrant gardens in the heart of Maya Beach, Placencia. Villa Jammin’ Gecko is a 5-bedroom, 7-bathroom custom-built vacation home occupying a stretch of sandy shore along the calm Caribbean Sea.
Leave all your cares behind because from the moment you enter the gates of this meticulously manicured property you will be engulfed in an aura of tranquility and luxury. Entering the villa, you will step into a spacious foyer with soaring ceilings and an eye-catching staircase. Tastefully decorated with pieces of local art and custom-built Belizean hardwood furniture, this home strikes the right balance between homey and haute.

Needs some TLC
First I would like to start with the positive aspects of this home. It’s a large beautiful home. But in need of some TLC.
The two chefs that we had were manny & his brother Domingo They were amazing Friendly professional and great cooks. They went out of their way to accommodate our every food preferences.
The daily laundry service was great. We appreciated that. Not having to get home and have a ton of laundry to do.
Now on to the negative.
1- the living room furniture is in dire need to be replaced. The leather is all worn and some of the buttons are bare. Time for some new stuff
2- the screen frames don’t fit the windows. They are popped out.
3- there are pieces of plaster missing on two of the balconies.
4- the bedroom on the second floor has a few issues. The tile is lifting. And the door to the patio is not installed level therefore a crack at the bottom where critters can enter. And yes they do. We had a gecko in the room with us. Thank god i saw it and got it out before bed.
5- the whole house needs a good cleaning. The walls and baseboards are dirty. It took a pic of where I cleaned a spot I will post pics of the issues.
6- the pool was so cloudy one day that it was gross to swim in. So we lost a day of enjoyment there.
Also it is missing a lot of tiles. Time work on that.
The bottom has 2 main drain covers. One is attached the other not. When off it is full of green algae 🤢
7- we discovered termites. Reported it to the care taker.
8- the bar fridge outside wasn’t working. Reported it. Was fixed But not very cold. Might be better suited to have one in the actual bar area
So some people might think that I’m knit picking. But if the owners are not made aware, how can they fix it.
I would think that when you spend over $1000.00 /day you expect it to be top notch.

Beyond our expectations - fabulous family vacation
Villa Jammin’ Gecko surpassed all our expectations. As we arrived, everyone in our family of 11 said `Wow’ as we explored the home. It’s a beautiful building with spacious rooms – 5 bedrooms with ensuite bathrooms, large common spaces including a pool/game room, and multiple balconies – not to mention the beautiful pool area, beach and the nearby dock that we had access to. The home is new and immaculate.
We especially loved having meals included for three of the days. We greatly appreciated the daily maid service and grounds tending/raking. The caretakers were wonderful.
We had a fabulous family vacation – kayaking, paddleboarding, swimming, snorkeling, playing water volleyball, jumping off the dock, lying in the hammock and reading. There were DVD selections for the kids at night. Outings were fun – one of the amenities was access to the large pool at the nearby Placencia Hotel (heading there in the golf cart was a blast for the kids). Nearby restaurants on evenings when we didn’t have the cook were cool spots with delicious. food We took a day trip excursion to Ranguana Island.
Highly recommend.
Before our week at Jammin’ we all had spent time in jungle lodges and visited ruins but, if you hadn’t, trips could be arranged. We simply didn’t want to leave Villa Jammin’ Gecko much during our week.

Jammin Gecko Paradise
Highly recommend! The house was well taken care of, extremely clean, well set up and has everything you could possibly need to enjoy a relaxing vacation in Paradise. The staff was unbelievable. The cook’s meals were delicious, the house was cleaned daily inside and out. They even raked the sand and cleaned your clothes. We also had the house next door (The Groovy Gecko) and the cook was able to accommodate us for all our meals together in this house for a large group and it was perfect. My only recommendation is if you want to watch tv in the bedrooms bring a Firestick or something to connect to the TVs to watch as they don’t have cable in the bedrooms. Jammin Gecko is definitely a dream vacation spot!

Simply perfect!
This house... literally can't say enough great things about it. Immaculate, great location, private pool, ocean front - and ample room for 10 friends (5 couples).
The staff is first class from handling the laundry and keeping the grounds looking great. The chef was amazing, highly recommend booking more days with them if you can. The staff also bent over backwards to help our larger group secure a last minute excursion to go tubing and to the waterfalls.
Thank you Talia, Mabel, Domingo, (Domingo's brother), and all the other staff that made this our best group trip to date :)

Terrific Large Group Location
We had a large group, and rented Jammin Gecko and an adjacent Gecko house. What a great stay. The Gecko team does a great job of making your experience as perfect as possible. Mabel took care of everything related to tours and requests. The chef crew was spectacular, taking care of everyone's special dietary needs and tastes. And the food was terrific. The housekeeping and facilities crew make sure everything is spotless. And of course, there is the pool and the beach. It was sooooo hard to leave.
I would recommend Gecko properties in a heartbeat. Thanks to Talia and Geri for all their help.

Villa Jammin Gecko
The house and staff was more than we anticipated. Mabel was beyond fantastic, everything she set up for us was perfect. The chefs were amazing. Housekeeping and grounds keeping were perfect. This was an amazing trip for a bunch of friends getting away.

Paradise Found
The staff of Villa Jammin' Gecko made our 2-week stay amazing!! We cannot compliment or thank Talia,Mabel, Domingo, George, and all the others enough- they were so attentive, never obtrusive, and complete professionals. The house was very comfortable for our group of 5 adult couples. There was plenty of space to gather and have fun as well as have privacy when wanted. The care taken to keep the house, beach, & pool area was exceptional. Domingo, George, & staff prepared meals that were delicious and they catered to food restrictions with ease. The Jammin' Gecko staff made this the easiest, stress-free vacation we have ever taken. THANK YOU!
The location of the house on the Placencia penninsula is perfect for exploring Belize attractions. (25 minutes to the Village of Placencia & 25 minutes to the roundabout for the Southern Highway). Mabel set up a great excursion to the Monkey Rain Forrest and they picked us up in boat across the street from the house, at the lagoon! (How cool & easy is that!!) Talia arranged all the air transfers from Belize City & transportation from the Placencia Airport.
We rented two vehicles for our group of 10 and used the golf cart for trips to The Placencia Hotel, grocery store, and visiting a bar or two. We had a great time traveling to the Bocawina Rain Forest, the chocolate farm, into the village of Placencia, and to the dive shops for our amazing scuba diving.
Communication was easy (they provide a phone for any needs that arise) and a satellite phone for communication back home. Internet is spotty at times but we could reboot & it improved.
Since we stayed two weeks, we got to see the other Gecko homes during change over day . We even got to see the island from our dive boats- and it looked amazing!
We would highly recommend Villa Jammin Gecko or any of the other Gecko properties.

!Memories Made!
We had an unbelievably great time at the Jammin' Gecko in Placencia Belize. Yes, the house, food, service, beach, ocean were all as advertised...top drawer all the way, but for us the wonderful family memories are what we will always remember. Playing family football and futbol on our private beach, cards by the pool and morning paddle boarding in the Caribbean are just a few of them that we will always cherish. Thank you for making this vacation the best one yet! Can't wait until next year!

Jammin' Gecko was the best!
We had the best girl’s week ever at the Jammin’ Gecko. Mabel was remarkable and took excellent care of everything we needed. The property is beautiful thanks to Javier. Domingo and Manuel are the best at fixing fabulous meals. It was great to have a golf cart to get us around. There is such great restaurants and bars very close to the house and Placencia is a great town to hang and shop in. Don’t miss the Bristo and the Flying Monkey. The best excursion we did was with Percy on the Monkey River. We would highly recommend this property, whether it be a girl’s trip, or any vacation!
