We really did not want to leave Utila and Laguna Vista and highly recommend this place for your stay in Utila.
We have been to the island twice and stayed at Laguna Vista both times. We went with two kids 7 & 9 years old. The accommodations were perfect; a very clean, beautiful and comfortable get away on top of the hill and is about a 10 minute walk into town and 20 to the local beach! It is relaxing to be a little bit out of the "hustle and bustle" of town.. Two nicely set bedrooms, very clean bathrooms, full kitchen and spacious living room make this house the perfect home-away-from-home for a small family or a small group of friends. The large private pool they have suitable for adults and small children, the kids absolute loved the pool and were in it multiple times a day. Next to the pool, a high-roof hut perfect for entertaining or simply relaxing. It's equipped with a large table, small fridge, sink, ceiling fan and small speakers and the kitchen was fully stocked with everything you could need including beer in the fridge and an espresso machine! If it doesn't Tony and Jo were great with any request or questions we had! They are great hosts and have great advice and expertise on island life and what to see and do. They are accessible at pretty much any time are such kind and welcoming people, not to mention easy-going and interesting. They picked us up at the plane and provided advise on places/things to do, and even helped us book some activities. Everyone on the Island knows them and when you go into any shop or restaurant the staff knew you where staying at their place and if felt like you were getting extra special service! We really did not want to leave Utila and Laguna Vista and highly recommend this place for your stay in Utila.

Laguna Vista- A little slice of paradise
Tony and Jo's condo Laguna Vista is truly a slice of paradise. The pool and champa with the tiki bar are perfect for lounging on the hot sunny days. The condo is about a 10 minute walk into town and 20 to the local beach! It is relaxing to be a little bit out of the "hussle and bussle" of town. The kitchen is fully stocked with everything you could need. If it doesn't Tony and Jo were great with any request or questions we had! They are great hosts and have great advice and expertise on island life and what to see and do. Stewart hill is a close walk and provides awesome views of the whole island and distant mainland Honduras (Fantastic at sunset!). Jo's favorite restaurant Mango Tango was our favorite as well, but it can get busy so go early! We also loved Rehab bar next to the public beach and Snorkeling down at Coral View. When we get the chance we would love to return and would definitely recommend Laguna Vista!

Best island vacation ever
We just loved Laguna Vista. It was close to everything, and we walked everywhere. However, it was far enough that all the noise and buzz of the main street was not heard at all. Jo & Tony were amazing hostesses and always available. They picked us up at the dock, provided advise on places/things to do, and even helped us book some activities.The apartment was compact, yet comfortable, and offered everything you would need to have a wonderful stay. It was great to sit by the pool in the evenings, after a full day of diving, and sip wine and just unwind. We really did not want to leave Utila and Laguna Vista. Highly recommend this place for your stay in Utila.

Perfect Place for the fours of us!
My husband, myself, along with my Older in laws had a great stay. It was nice and quiet, away from the hustle bustle of town. The pool was fabulous and right out the front door. The in laws were older, and liked the fact that they did not have to climb any stairs. It was the perfect place for us to hang out at the shaded Champa with our drinks and snacks, without any interruptions. Tony and Jo were very accommodating to all our needs. We found it very clean and comfortable.

Awesome place, great and very friendly hosts. Very clean. The pool is only a few steps away from the door which makes it perfect for when you just want to jump in. The hosts live on the second floor which at first we were worried that they were going to get upset from our loud music, but... Not at all. They are veeery friendly and very helpful whenever you have any questions or need help with anything. Taxi is less than $2 dollars per person. FYI.. if you take a taxi anywhere, and you have to make a stop along the way, the driver will charge you the rate again, per person. So try to negotiate that before you get in. Next time I go to Utila, I'll definitely stay at Laguna Vista with Tony and Jo.

Paradise within the paradise
I've been several times to the island and I've had my share of good and bad experiences when it comes to accomodations. I've stayed in pretty much every type of accomodation available on the island, but absolutely no hotel, inn or lodge compares to the beauty and comfort of Laguna Vista. A couple of friends and I, decided we should treat ourselves to something better for this trip, better accomodations, comfort, relaxation and a little more privacy; we were expecting something better, but we found THE BEST. The house is a gem; a very clean, beautiful and comfortable get away on top of the hills that gives you a sense of tranquility and peace unavailable anywhere else on the island. Two nicely set bedrooms, very clean bathrooms, full kitchen and spacious living room make this house the perfect home-away-from-home for a small family or a small group of friends. Of course, I couldn't leave out the gorgeous private pool they have suitable for adults and small children, an absolute luxury in Utila, I think it would be hard if not impossible to find another accomodation that has a private pool on the island. Right next to the pool, a high-roof hut perfect for entertaining or simply relaxing. It's equipped with a large table, small fride, sink, ceiling fan and small speakers. In Laguna Vista, you don't need anything else. I've left the best for last. Despite the fact that you are staying on the best place in town, enjoy the great amenities the house has, trust me when I tell you this, you WILL NOT find better HOST than Jo and Tony. We hadn't even set foot on Utila when Jo was already welcoming us and asking at what time she should pick us up. We had a problem with our arrival to the island due to bad weather and they took care of it. Once we landed we were picked up and tuk-tuked to the small paradise they're lucky to call home. That's not all, to our suprise they even had cold drinks on the fridge!! Tony and Jo are such kind and welcoming people, not to mention easy-going and interesting. They are accessible at pretty much any time and its a delight just to have a regular talk with them. Utila is a gem, a paradise that the few who know about, are lucky enough to experience it. I am Honduran, so I come here alot, but this being my first time at Laguna Vista, I can tell you. It will definitely not be my last. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!

trés bel endroit
Vraiment belle villa avec deux grandes chambres et deux salles de bains, cuisine équipée avec vraiment tout. Superbe piscine pour vraiment se relaxer. Très bien.

Best Hosts Ever!
From the moment we landed on Utila Tony and Jo were the hosts with the most! We arrived tired and grimy from over 24hrs of travel and were greeted with a warm welcome and big hugs. They loaded us and our things into their golf cart (which we promptly nicknamed) and the tour began. We arrived at our accommodations and could not have been happier. The home is spacious, nicely decorated, well laid out and comes with all the amenities you could want on a tropical vacation. Every window you look out offers views of tropical plants, jungle or fields. The home was very clean and the beds were super comfy. However, the champa by the pool is so inviting on warm evenings it's impossible to want to sit anywhere else. And the pool itself with its sparkling sweet water is over the top, perfectly refreshing and peaceful to sit by with fountains and all. It's also just the right depth to stand with a bevy! All this made our vacation feel like a tropical paradise and only a few minutes stroll to town. But the very best part of this vacation rental isn't any of this...it's your hosts. From borrowing a phone to call for pizza (even after we weren't staying with them anymore) to answering numerous questions, assisting us in a hotel in San Pedro Sula for our departure, stoking our fridge prior to our arrival, touring us about town and entertaining us with good conversation. Thanks for everything Tony and Jo, you are two amazing people and we hope to visit you again soon!!!

Best place in Utila, hands down!
There were 6 of us at Laguna Vista. Tony and Jo are simply the best hosts! They are very friendly and were more than helpful getting us whatever we needed. The entire space (inside and outside) was clean and beautiful when we arrived with a fully stocked beer fridge by the pool! The house is about a 10 minute walk to main street. There are many Tuk Tuk’s around as well to take you anywhere. For most of us this was our first time on Utila and Tony and Jo gave us excellent bar/restaurant recommendations! Tony also hooked us up at BICD (Bay Islands College of Diving) for the 4 of us who wanted to become certified. A big thanks to Tony and Jo! We all had an amazing time on the Island and already know when we come back this is the place we will be staying!
