Goldsmith House sleeps 4-5 in two spacious air-conditioned bedrooms, fully fitted kitchen and modern bathroom. A beautiful property set in wonderful front and back private gardens, with fresh herbs and fruit trees, all guests are welcome to pick and enjoy.
The lovely swimming pool situated in the back garden surrounded by mandarin, lemon and grapefruit tree.
This gorgeous house is situated only 5 minutes walk from town in a very beautiful part of town.

Great location, small but everything you need
Ephesus is nearby & other interesting sites within walking distance. Small with character & a nice garden. Everything you need for a short stay. No real place to sit inside other than the conservatory, cool enough with the glass doors open but only if you don't mind the neighbour's cats. Helpful host, found us a guide, recommended a show in the Agora in Ephesus & found us a coffee maker. The pool is fine for a quick cooling dip but note it is shared with the house next door.

Excellent House
We were 3 weeks for holidays in this excellent house and had a wonderful time. For the third time we rent the Goldsmith house in Selcuk - with perfect service, a beautiful garden, very clean and comfortable rooms, a perfect equipped kitchen and bathroom.
It was a really good and happy time with our both little children!

A lovely oasis of peace
This is a lovely property which, despite being close to the heart of the bustling town of Selcuk, is also very quiet. It is also close to Artemis (the ancient temple of Diana) and St John's Church and the Basilica, and it is easy to get to Ephesus and the fantastic beach at Pamucak.
The house is well appointed and clearly well looked after, with beautiful gardens. Alison is very helpful and will go out of her way to arrange trips, recommend good sites to visit, places to eat, etc.

Lovely house, lovely location.
We stayed at Goldsmith House for a week in July, it was very hot, so the pool and the shade in the garden was wonderful. The house is comfortable, spacious and well equipped and in a lovely quiet part of town with little streets and very friendly neighbours, who always said merhaba when they saw us. The town is 5 -10 minutes walk away with restaurants, shops etc. Selcuk is a lovely little town, we hope the Ephesus museum will reopen soon but the local museum in the town centre tells a fascinating story of the town over the years.
Thanks to Alison, who was really helpful with recommendations, taxis etc, We will be back!

Beautiful cottage in gorgeous garden
We stayed just 3 nights and really enjoyed. Location is superb, close to the Basilica of St. John and the big mosque. Really quiet area so,perfect sleep. You can walk to the major sites in Selcuk and the restaurants downtown. Cottage has been beautifully updated with all mod cons. I could only get wi if in the patio room but strong there. As very old the windows are small and the rooms quite dark. Patio room is only place to sit. Check about the TV if that's important. Pool is lovely but pump may stop of its own accord, contact Alison. Picked a lemon from the tree to have in G&T....bliss.

The pool pump works with a timer so does not run constantly in Spring time, once the weather starts to warm up this changes.

The best place to stay in Selcuk!
We loved the house and the garden and the situation. We have stayed in rented accommodation in many countries. This is one of the nicest houses that we have ever rented ( in fact the only house to equal it is owned by my brother-in-law in the Lake District ). It sleeps 2 very comfortably, and in stylish surroundings. The garden is walled, so private, and is a sensory delight. The house seemed to have everything that we needed, and it all worked. It was well maintained and beautifully clean. I am gushing, but only because the property deserves it. And Alison, the agent, was so helpful, even when it came to matters not concerning the house. Thank you!

Wonderful two weeks
The location was very convenient as it was easy to access Selcuk and nearby sights and also to escape back into the garden. Furthermore, Alison is wonderful host who ensures she is constant contact with her guests and is more than willing to arrange outings, tours, reservations, etc. Last but not least, having the pool and BBQ on hand makes for a very homey atmosphere and if you're looking for a non-hotel experience, Goldsmith House is a perfect choice.

Beyond our expectations!
Our first time to rent a house in Turkey was a very positive experience, far beyond our expectations really. We so appreciate Alison. She helped us find just the right houses (we rented two actually) to fit our budget. She is a true professional, honest, friendly, and most available when we had questions. We look forward to seeing her again next year. We think she is special! The Goldsmith house was our favorite. Two beautiful gardens. The Fortuna house was very nice and roomy. Both are well located in Selcuk.

Good base for an excellent first visit to Turkey
Alison provided great communication and was very efficient. The house is in a great location, not only for walking into Selcuk and Ephesus, but also for venturing further afield to Hierapolis and the sea side. (The car hire and airport transfers Alison arranged were good value and really convenient).
Unlike many rental properties we've used the garden was well maintained and lovely to sit in and enjoy the Easter sunshine.
We even braved the pool (also well looked after) although it was somewhat bracing in early April. Thanks for helping us have a lovely holiday.

Couldn't possibly better this
We stayed at Goldsmith House for a week over the Easter holidays. Alison was in contact from the moment we booked, she stocked the fridge for us with items we requested (mostly fruit!), arranged collection at the airport, and met us at the house despite the late hour of our arrival to show us how things worked and where the bread kiosk was. The house was immaculately clean, simply but amply furnished and very, very attractive. The location is super -- an easy walk into Selcuk centre (slightly shorter but more strenuous path was available over the top of the hill), an easy stroll to the Ephesus Museum, slightly longer walk to the Artemesium, easy walk to the St. John's Basilica and the grand 14th Century mosque. It is even possible for the fit to walk to/from Ephesus's site itself, but we took the dolmus. The small pool is absolutely lovely, situated in the back garden and kept spotlessly clean. Our son loved it even though it was just a bit cold at that time of year: wearing a T-shirt to swim in kept him warm enough. The house has two bathrooms, one inside (with washing machine) and one outside (handy for the gardens and pool), both equipped with very nice showers. There are two bedrooms, one of which has twin beds and a futon and the other of which has a double bed. All beds were very comfortable. There is a front and a back garden, both of which are very pleasant to sit in. The back garden features some fruit trees and vegetables: we enjoyed picking fresh lemons, lettuce, spring onions and herbs for our salads. The kitchen is small but conveniently laid out and well-equipped. The front of the house features a large glass-enclosed porch with table, dining chairs and comfy reading chairs, and the glass doors can be fully opened to the fresh air. One thing we really enjoyed was being able to recline in the garden and bird-watch effortlessly: storks, a wide variety of song-birds, jackdaws, crows, doves and pigeons, many attracted to the nearby Artemesium. If you like birds, bring binoculars! What we enjoyed the most was the utter peace. It wasn't just that the neighbourhood was quiet, but there was something about the house and gardens that made it especially peaceful -- a real haven. And, except for half-a-dozen steps up from the garden to the house itself, the house is very accessible. If you can manage the few steps up and down, it would be suitable for the less mobile (but not wheelchair accessible). Altogether I have only one regret -- that we had to leave at the end of the week. It is a house where one could easily and comfortably spend weeks, months or years.
