My family of 6 spent 2 weeks in this lovely villa, overlooking rice fields and a 45 minute walk into Ubud. Wayan drove us into town and picked us up when we wanted. He was always helpful. For all-day trips and sightseeing he arranged for other transportation, even helping us rent a motor bike for a week. I would like to be back there now!

Excellent villa, very-very kind and helpful employees :-) Calm place and wonderful views to little rice fields and jungle.

We spent several days at Villa Gajah and had a lovely stay. The villa is spacious and would work well for families or small groups. The bedrooms are air conditioned and the common areas are open air with lovely views. Wayan and Suri, the couple that runs the house, are very friendly and helpful. Wayan walked us to a nearby restaurant by taking a "short cut" through the rice terraces. We certainly would have been lost without his help. Wayan or Tono, the house manager, will bring you to and from the villa on arrival/departure and will take you into Ubud. They will also handle laundry, food delivery, spa services and more. They make everything very easy. Finally, the pool at the view is amazing. It is large for a private villa and has such a pretty view. It was very relaxing. The two drawbacks, or just things to be aware of, are the walk to the property and the lack of privacy. There is a bit of a walk to the villa from the car and it is tough with large suitcases. If you have mobility issues, this may be a problem. Second, with Wayan's family living on the property and the very open nature of the house, there is a bit of privacy that is lost. Neither issue should stop you from booking this lovely villa, but they are things to be aware of. Overall, we would not hesitate to book Villa Gajah again.

Villa Gajah is a lovely place to stay. There is a brief walk from the car park to the property which is accessed through a doorway in a wall. The villa is spacious and clean with a beautiful chilled terrace overlooking the rice fields. There is also a wonderful prospect from the dining area. This villa has one of the loveliest locations ever. and is charmingly and tastefully decorated. Wayan and Suri work very hard to keep everything lovely. This is a great place to stay as it is so spacious and well built. The pool is fabulous. It was a really easy space in which to spend time with each other without a sense of crowding - we are a couple with three grown up or nearly grown up children.The breakfasts cooked by Wayan and Suri were delicious. The transport into Ubud by Wayan and Tono was offered without question by our host on a very helpful basis indeed. Ubud has such an array of diversions it would be difficult to tire of the area. Wayan, Tono and Suri went out of their way to be totally helpful, kind and lovely. Tono was very helpful in suggesting trips and ideas for our entertainment. They were fantastic hosts and we could not fault their kindness and attention to detail. Thank you Fabrice, your villa is stunning and we really enjoyed our time there.

Sans aucun doute, c'est la plus belle villa de Ubud. Gaja signifie éléphant en balinais. Tous le personnel est au petit soin. Transfert aéroport avec la voiture et le chauffeur de la villa. Fabrice le propriétaire parle bien français et anglais. Très beau "fish pond". Tout est possible, tout est fourni, pour un merveilleux séjour au milieu des rizières de Bali.

It's a walk from the car park (about 100m) but the Villa is absolutely beautiful & a fantastic set up. The view is amazing. Wayan (our driver) was fabulous & very helpful. Highly recommend this Villa.

Travelers - Myself 31 wife 31 children 4 and 5, two sets of grandparents all 50+ I must admit when we "arrived" at the Villa Gajah, I thought maybe I had been had.. Where you park the car is a small distance from the villa itself and the lane we walked down looked anything but luxury. That probably made the view over the infinity pool all the more breathtaking when we arrived through the double doors. This place has a view that is to die for. while relaxing from pretty much anywhere in the villa you have a view of rice fields, jungle and mountains. imagine our surprise when we returned after dark the first night to a light show in the rice fields of hundreds of fireflies. Aesthetics out of the way let me tell you about the rest of the villa. The bathrooms could be cleaner, that is to say they are not to a resort standards. this being said they were usable and water pressure was good in all rooms apart from the upstairs communal bathroom. The rooms were comfortable and air cons are super cold. No TV's for those who need them in the bedrooms but that wasn't a huge issues for us. They give you a phone to call Wayan for pick ups and drop offs in Ubud, the main drop off point was Ubud Centre next to the big temple but Wayan was always happy to take us further (to the supermarket or down monkey forrest road or Yoga). Breakfast was looked after each morning by Wayan and Suri and was very nice. Some of us wanted extras and they were taken care of no problem. All in all we would come back in a heart beat. we felt well taken care of and Tono Wayan and Suri were very lovely hosts. The Good - The View! did I mention the view? The Pool was big The Hosts The Transfers into town The Location for exploring Rice fields and jungle The fact that the place looks better than in the photos. Cons - There were a few cons or things that took us a while to get use to. The Kitchen - Could definitely be cleaner (need to buy a new dish cloth) One Transfer to Ubud Wayan's car broke down which was fine but I was a little put off when Wayan asked me to pay his "friend" for the trip when we got there - I would never get in a taxi without knowing the price and I assumed the Villa was going to wear the charge. This was just a small bump in an otherwise lovely stay but something the villa should be aware of for the future. The TV - if you feel like watching TV you have to switch through 600 channels and only a small percentage work. Quite annoying when the kids saw something they wanted to watch and then it turned itself off after 15 seconds. The Pool pump timer was a bit dodgy so we didn't have out lovely infinity pool effect on our last day but I'm sure this will be fixed post haste. No Guest book - Less a con and more something to enhance guest experiences. something to tell the guest what they can do in the local area how much laundry bike hire etc is to help guest feel comfortable The cons aside we all loved staying here and will be back! thank you!

Villa Gajah is exactly like the photos show, just beautiful. Wayan and Suri thank you very much for your hospitality, you made our stay so enjoyable and meeting your children was a delight. Toño our driver made our day trip very enjoyable and we would highly recommend him. We so loved Villa Gajah and everyone there that we can't wait to go back again for a longer stay.

This is a beautiful villa tastefully decorated and has a very warm welcoming aura to it. The views from the upper floor are incredible with Ubud's ubiquitous paddy fields and the hills in the background. Wayan and Suri are always there to advise, help and drive you around. The breakfast is adequate and Suri's cheese omelettes are yummy! They organised masseuse(s) to come home so that we could all get our daily fix by the pool. The place is so tranquil and good that it was always a battle to either stay in or sightsee/shop! The only problem was the WiFi as it was difficult on most days to access even email.

Notre séjour à la villa Gajah a été formidable. Nous sommes partis en famille, 6 personnes, une dizaine de jours début octobre. La villa est spacieuse, bien équipée (serviettes de bain/ piscine, savon et shampoing fournis, coffre fort, jeux de société...) et la vue de la terrasse sur les rizières est tout simplement sublime. L'environnement est très calme, ponctué par le chant de notre ami gecko. Wayan et Suri qui s'occupent des transferts en centre ville, ménage et petits-déjeuners sont parfaits et très discrets. Ils fournissent un téléphone portable qui permet de les appeler pour les transferts du centre ville à la villa. Sinon, nous aimions bien faire le trajet jusqu'au centre ville par le petit chemin à travers les rizières longé de petites boutiques d'artisans, 30mn de marche, enfin plutôt 45mn car on s'arrête pour prendre des photos des magnifiques paysages et parler avec les artisans, très sympas. Tono s'occupe des sorties à la journée et nous conseille sur les lieux à visiter. Un séjour inoubliable où nous aimerions bien y retourner. Nous avons eu 11 jours de soleil, sans trop de touristes et sans moustique !
