Kishauwau Cabins is a family run cabin rental property just a 10 minute drive south of Starved Rock & Matthiessen State Parks. We are situated on 65 quiet, wooded acres on a bluff above the Vermilion River. Our cabins are nicely spaced to give everyone a sense of privacy. You will not find another rental in this area that will provide you the getaway experience we offer here. You will love being so close to the state parks to go do the hiking in the area but be able to get out of the chaos of tourists and come back to your quiet property just minutes away.
Our standard whirlpool cabins are a spacious, studio atmosphere inside. This style is for 1 couple with only 1 queen sized bed. All cabins offer full kitchens inside stocked with basic pots, pans, cooking utensils & dishes, centra...

This particular cabin style does not allow children or dogs. It is a firm maximum of 2 adults sharing 1 queen bed. If the rental is for a couple you must both be a minimum of 21 yrs. of age & looking for the peace and quiet getaway we are offering our guests. If it's a friends getaway then we require both in group to be a minimum of 28 yrs. of age to rent & looking for the quiet getaway we are offering. If considering daytime guests it must be pre-approved by owners.

AMAZING
This place is exactly what we needed! Secluded, peaceful, very clean and everything as advertised. We needed a place to "get away from it all", and they really delivered.

Beautiful, serene setting!
This cabin, located just minutes from gorgeous Starved Rock State Park, is the perfect weekend get-away! It provided all we needed, was very clean and the huge whirlpool tub was an great extra! The surrounding property is very well maintained and the natural setting is beautiful. I highly recommend contacting Terisa at Kishauwau's Starved Rock Area Cabins if you're looking for a place for some rest and relaxation.

The best weekend of the year!
We have made it our tradition to spend the Thanksgiving weekend at one of the cabins every year & it’s the best choice we make every year!
Hope we will continue the tradition & even our children will.

Highly recommended !!
I loved staying at these cabins! My boyfriend and I had a weekend getaway here. They were extremely nice and the cabin was clean and exactly like the pictures. I would definitely stay here again !

best place ever
We've been going to Kishauwau for almost 20 years. There is nowhere better to go for a retreat from the city. The cabins are very comfortable, well stocked with everything you need for cooking. If there's anything you forget, Teresa probably has it and will send it up. It's a perfect place to go with a bunch of friends or family and bbq, then make a fire and hang out after dinner. It's close to the state parks without the crowds. It couldn't be any better.

We love Kishauwau Cabins
About 10 years ago we were looking for a cabin getaway near Chicago and found Kishauwau. We've been going back multiple times a year ever since. It's a nice, quiet retreat from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Terisa and Jamie, the owners, are very nice and aim to please. The cabins are clean, comfortable and cozy. It's a short drive to Starved Rock State Park, where we often walk on the trails. The biggest drawback for us (although some would say this is a plus) is that there is no internet access in the cabins. We love to get away from everything, but sometimes we have to take work with us, so we end up going to Starved Rock Lodge to take advantage of the free wi-fi there. Other than that we love Kishauwau and will keep going back.

We Enjoyed Staying In These Cozy, Clean Cabins
In spite of unusually cold weather on the weekend we went to Kishauwau, we very much enjoyed our stay there with some friends and family. The wood stove was a nice feature to our cabin and added warmth and atmosphere. The folks who run the place were very friendly and helpful in showing us around and providing what we needed for our gang to eat together in one of the cabins. The place is peaceful and in a beautiful wooded area near the Vermillion River and we also enjoyed exploring both the Kishauwau property and nearby state parks.

Peace and quiet and privacy-- what more could you want??
Wonderful property!! We had a brief but lovely stay over 2 days during which we had engagement photos taken here and at Starved Rock. The owners are great and are available but not at all intrusive. I would choose this over a hotel any time! The fall colors were pretty and everything about the cabin was great. The one thing that we did not know was that there is a cutoff time to check in. We made it in time, but make sure you give an accurate time for check-in. It's a much more personal experience than a hotel.
It's a great place to unplug and unwind. We will definitely be back!

We are really glad you enjoyed your stay. We are actually on our second generation of guests here at Kishauwau which is really cool. Wonderful Pet Friendly Cabin
My husband and I stayed at Kishauwau twice this summer, once in July and again in September. We also brought our dog along. It is a very peaceful place without the distractions that usually plague our daily lives (e.g. internet, cell phones). The cabin was very clean, the owners are accommodating and friendly, but at the same time are not intrusive. If you are looking for a place to unwind from daily life and feel "human" again, this is the place for you!
