THE COTTAGE IS OPEN FROM EARLY MAY UNTIL COLUMBUS DAY WEEKEND EACH YEAR
Our spacious but cozy family cottage is located on a quiet shorefront road, just a few yards from the water with an uninterrupted view of Josiah's Cove and then across the sparkling sea 'all the way to Portugal.' It retains the charm of its 100-year history even though we've lovingly restored and equipped it with up-to-date appliances, numerous sky-lights, new mattresses and wireless internet service.
The cottage is perfectly suited for a quiet family holiday. It is not appropriate for large groups or noisy parties. Absolute maximum occupancy is 8.

A perfect relaxing week
This property was an absolute fantastic place to enjoy a relaxing week on Peaks Island. We rode bikes all around the island, and I don’t think I spotted a better view. The house is at the end of a dead end, dirt road toward the back of the island so you have very few people passing by. Plus being on the back side of the island, you get a nice cool breeze from the open water which was quite refreshing. The porch at the house was probably ten degrees cooler than the front part of the island by the ferry.
It does not have air conditioning, but it was not needed for our stay. In fact, it got a little chilly at night, but nothing an extra blanket couldn’t cure. When you first turn down the street, you may be a little worried as it is a very wooded area with a dirt road cutting a path between densely populated trees with a couple houses where it looks like one or two of the owners may regularly wear a goalie mask and carry a machete. But, as you get a quarter mile in it opens up revealing several very nice houses including Woody’s cottage in the middle.
Despite my fears of being attacked by a rabid raccoon while scrubbing my bald head with the refreshing body wash my wife brought, the outdoor shower was fine with plenty of hot water. The inside of the house was very quaint and clean and had everything you would need for a comfortable stay. I would definitely stay at this location again and would highly recommend it to anyone thinking of spending time on the island.

Thanks, Fred, for your kind words. We hope you come back! I know you were just joking about the dirt road, but we'd like to assure anyone looking at the cottage that all the neighbors are very nice, even those with cottages in the woods! We regularly get together with them for drinks or coffee when we are on the island ourselves. And we do have an indoor tub in addition to the outdoor shower that everyone loves.
