Un gîte chaleureux et des hôtes exceptionnels !
Merci Wendy et Steve pour votre superbe accueil !
Le gîte est spacieux, propre, pratique et confortable, avec une terrasse sympa et une belle fraîcheur lors des chaudes journées d'été. Tout était parfait d'un point de vue logistique. La piscine est propre, agréable et exposée plein sud pour bien profiter du soleil !
Pas de bruits de voitures, un endroit parfait pour entendre les oiseaux et observer les étoiles !
La petite ville de Baignes juste à côté propose toutes les commodités (resto, marché, pharmacie etc).
Wendy et Steve sont très accueillants, souriants, sympathiques et disponibles, on se sent vraiment comme en famille et on passe de super moments. Un grand merci pour ce très beau séjour !
Nous reviendrons avec grand plaisir et recommandons vivement cet endroit : n'hésitez pas et foncez !

Accueil excellent
Merci pour votre accueil, votre gentillesse. Votre propriété est splendide et nous avons passé une semaine reposante et très agréable. Nous sommes à proximité de tout et les activités ne manquent pas. La piscine est un plus non négligeable pour les petits comme pour les grands. MERCI

Wunderfull holiday
We enjoyed our stay with Wendy and Steve such nice people . We felt as if we were family (uncle Steve and aunty Wendy) We had a lot of laughs. The gite was pleasant it was nice and the area arround Touverac is beautifull. Real farmers land so you need a car to see other places. As a family of 5 with grown-up kids we enjoyed the gite stable view at the gites Garbellant Touverac and we can recommend a stay there. Wendy and Steve thanks for the good care and fantastic evenings you gave us. Marja, Jaap, Amy, Lindy and Paul

Fantastic week in France in a lovely location/setting
The gites were recommended by some good friends who stayed the previous year. We were a large group of 4 families who stayed in 3 of the gites for the week. We were impressed by the location of the gites in a lovely rural setting with so much space for the children to safely play and roam, without worry as to their safety (with some of the owner's pets/animals for additional company and entertainment). The gites surround a lovely pool where the children enjoyed spending most of their time in the lovely summer sunshine, while the adults were able to relax.
The gites were finished to a very high standard, well equipped and spotlessly clean throughout, and were impressively spacious and comfortable to stay in. The English owners, Steve and Wendy, were always available and very helpful, friendly and accommodating, and I particularly enjoyed the hot chilli peppers from Wendy's vegetable garden!
The location of the gites makes many local towns and villages easily accessible. We enjoyed numerous trips out, with Royan being only an hour away by car, and Cognac less then 40 minutes.
We enjoyed this holiday so much we are already talking about our next trip to France.

Fantastic holiday
We spent 3 weeks in the stables gite in August and had a fantastic time. The gite and complex exceeded our expectations, the pictures on the web sites do not do it justice. It was a large, spacious, comfortable gite overlooking the pool so children can easily be supervised, but with a private back terrace. It was only a 5 minute walk to both the supermarket and the small village where there were 2 bread shops a butchers, a market twice a week selling fresh produce, 2 eating places and 2 cafe bars. The owners were friendly and on hand to answer questions, give advice about the area. our son had a great time with the other children who were there and we have already booked to go back next year.

Would highly recommend, suitable for all!
We stayed with Wendy and Steve at the Stables for 9 days in early June. We got lost on the way there but Steve kindly met us and showed us the way, it was nearly midnight! When we got there we had the option of wine or a cup of tea too! The accommodation was superb, comfy, spotlessly clean and a 3 min walk to bars and restaurants. It was also an excellent base for exploring the region which had too much to offer to get around everything in one holiday! We'll just have to go back!
During our stay, Steve and Wendy provided lots of useful advice and even invited us to Wendy's birthday BBQ, where we got to meet all their friends and had a fantastic night! Their friends were terrific and we even bumped into some of them afterwards which made for a great social holiday!
One tip, visit Aubeterre! The church is amazing and the village so pretty, it's well worth a visit!

Fantastic place to stay during our holiday!
Nice cottages, beautiful and peaceful surroundings and very friendly hosts. The property is very suitable for children and they loved the chickens and the horses.
We also loved the supermarket located 200 meters from the cottages. We only have positive remarks and have recommended the property to other Norwegians.

Fantastic Gtes de Garbellant
We stayed for one week at The Stables of the Garbellant residence and wished we had stayed longer!!!!!! On arrival we were greeted by Wendy and Steve, one of the nicest couples we have ever met. They could not do enough for all their guests and were available any time of day for queries and information. The gite was spotless, the phtos do not do the property justice, even nicer in real life with breathtaking views across the fields. The property had english TV a wonderful big deep bath (for two) and walk-in shower. The beds were bliss, and the kitchen complete with all necessary items inclduing a washin machine that you did not have to pay extra to use!!!!!
The property has a lovely outside pool and aswell as your own private terrace there is a terrace by the pool so can have a drink or 5 with the other guests should you wish.
The centre of the little town was a 5 minute walk which had a couple of restaurants and bars, all good value and very friendly. There is a supermarket a few minutes walk away with a wonderful deli counter (and an overly french gentleman serving, complete with handlebar moustache!!!).
There are many lakes a short drive away, most with beaches for children. There is also a spectacularly blue and clear filled quarry lake a bike ride away which we had to ourselves, very refreshing on the hot days but probably not suitable for children under 5.
We had a wonderful time, we are 35years old without kids but would suit older couples and families equally.
Wendy, Steve and there lovely son Ben will be friends of our for life now and we cannot wait to return to The Stables and Baignes ....... maybe even to live!

Best of rural france
This house is one of three holiday rentals in the grounds of an old french manor house. It is in a rural setting adjoining a cycle/bridle path, but is only a few minutes walk from the village. The owers live on site and gave us a very warm welcome and were available whenever needed. The swimming pool was very popular with our children. A car is essential to see the locality - we hired one at La Rochelle airport. We had a lovely relaxing time there, and would love to return.

Excellent modern comfort in the perfect rural setting.
We stayed for a week and had a wonderful time. Baignes is perfectly located to tour the Cognac region. The accommodation is a lovely semi-detached property with an open plan ground floor and two generous bedrooms upstairs.
The property backs onto the network of cycle track that crisscrosses the region so do take up the bike hire on offer. Farmland, sunflowers and vineyards surround you as you while away the hours on traffic-free byways.
The swimming pool is a definite selling point however it was not heated and was a little chilly for our 15month old, not that he noticed.
The Andertons were always helpful when needed and managed to remain unobtrusive for the whole time we were there.
