Great Apartment
The apartment was clean as had all the provisions we needed. It’s a short walk from the Center of town and directly on the beach. Beautiful spot! Highly recommended as the host was very helpful in the lead up to the stay. Would stay again!

Excellent apartment for peaceful and relaxed holiday
Really enjoyed our stay at this apartment David was really helpful giving us lots of info before hand about where to go and what to do. He even sorted us out a taxi from the airport. The apartment was spacious and clean. Two large bedrooms one with an en-suite, comfy beds but maybe take some ear plugs if your a light sleeper as the wind can be really noisy at times! Had everything we needed no tv but it was nice to not see a black box in the lounge for once! Kitchen was well equipped so we could cook dinner some nights. Lovely balcony area which caught the sun all day but still had a shaded area aswell you could sit in or use the hammock. It was very windy this time of year but the balcony was never really affected by the wind which was nice. We found the bakery David mentioned which was amazing and so cheap defo recommend the coconut bread 🤤 the apartment is on the edge of the town but it’s very peaceful and only a 5-10 min walk to get to shops or restaurants. Overall we had a very nice relaxed holiday and would definitely come back again.

Nice Apartment
David, the owner,give me plenty of information and help, the apartment had everything I needed and is in a quiet position but close enough to Angulos Beach and town centre.

Excellent apartment
We stayed in David's great apartment on the beach front, just behind Fashion Club about 10 minutes walk, East, from the pier at Santa Maria. Well equipped and shaded from the sun although south facing. A great stay on an island with its own unique charm and character.

A great place to stay in Santa Maria
We have recently returned from a week at this lovely apartment. It is located just on the edge of town right on the beach. Its only 10 or 15 minuites walk at most to get to the other edge of town and if course bars and restaurants. The area is quiet and there is a beach club right across the way with a nice pool and wifi. There isn't a direct sea view but you can see the sea from thr balcony. David has also provided a hammock which is wonderful to relax in - I highly recommend it. Tha apartment has everything you need for a comfor3table stay. If we return we will certainly stay here. David the owner was fantastic and kept in touch throughout.highly recommended.

Perfect for us
We stayed in David’s apartment for a month. After booking he sent detailed information about the apartment and useful information about Santa Maria. He advised us to stop at the supermarket on the way from the airport to buy heavy items. It would be useful to buy washing up liquid, soap and toilet rolls as well. The apartment was clean, spacious and the access trouble free. It has a well equipped kitchen. We really liked Santa Maria. People are friendly, lively and varied. There are many restaurants and bars. The food is pretty good. We would recommend Cams for breakfast and fish of the day with vegetables and Angola’s for lunch and really nice staff. Directly across the road from the flat there is an hotel called Buddha Beach which has a restaurant and bar. It is more expensive than the majority of places but we found the food very good (especially fillet mignon) and the cocktails potent. Bread from the local bakery is good and cheap. Around the corner from Tam Tam bar,where the friendly owner will show the football of your choice, there is a bakery run by a French lady which has more expensive but excellent bread etc. We were unlucky with the weather which everyone said was much colder and windier than normal. It you visit in Jan/Feb it’s a good idea to take something warm for the evenings. We would love to return. .

Comfortable stay
I recently returned from santa maria , Cape Verde. The apartment was very safe and comfortable......on the beach and close to all ameneties. The two shower rooms were very welcome especially the ensuite.....you had everything you needed to enjoy your stay. ...thank you very much David

Slightly disappointing stay!
We booked this appartment after reading the great reviews but were slightly diasspointed with our stay. The positives are, that the appartment itself is quite spacious, is in a quiet part of the town, has most basic amenities and also two bathrooms. The lovely neighbours also told us about a nearby beach with it's very own natural wading pool which was a hidden gem and a big hit with our two year old. The issues that we had with the appartment were, that firstly, the ensuite shower (and the wash basin) flooded within minutes of using and you found yourself standing in a pool of dirt for the rest of the shower. It then took several minutes for the water to drain and hot water also quite often ran out beofre one had finished with their shower. We had no shower mats provided which meant that the bathroom floors were invariably left wet (and muddy after trips to the beach)...we spent a considerable time cleaning up and at times, our stay didn't feel like a holiday. The other big issue we had was, that the flat desription clearly states 'Wi-Fi available' which is misleading. There is no wifi in the flat and you have to get a voucher which costs about 40 euros for 4GB over a week. This should be made clearer. We also had a problem on the last day. We were promised a late checkout at 2 pm but at 11 am on our return from the beach, we found the cleaning lady at the appartment ready to clean up...despite our explanation that we had just gotten back from the beach and needed to wash up and finish our packing (not the easiest job with a toddler), the lady did not budge meaning we had to move all our stuff to one room so she could get started whilst we got ready. This was extremely stressful as we now had half an hour to pack up, get ready and vacate the apartment. Lastly, and this is no fault of the owners, the view of the beach from the balcony has now been spoilt by the bar that has come up right in front of the appartment complex which is a real shame.

Lovely apartment - it felt like a home in the sun. We will come back!
We came across David's apartment after researching and comparing with some others. Not only was it very good value but David was very responsive and helpful from the very beginning, so it was an easy choice. David provided us with plenty of helpful advice upfront, which turned out to be really helpful during our stay. Whether it was restaurant recommendations, where to find supermarkets or where to go in medical emergencies - it was plenty of useful information. David kindly organized a pick-up from the airport for us as well, so we could start enjoying our holidays without any delay. The description and photos of the apartment were accurate, and we really loved our time there. By foot, it takes some 10 minutes to the centre of Santa Maria, which was ideal to go for a stroll along the beach or stop by one of the restaurant or bars along the way before going for a swim or watching the fishermen at the pier. It's certainly down to taste, but we preferred the location of this apartment as compared to staying in the more touristy part where most hotels are. It is a quiet, yet safe road, which leads you to a rural path up to Kite Beach to your left and to the city centre if you turn right. We found the area had a very friendly and tranquil atmosphere, and surrounding neighbours, bar and restaurant staff soon became familiar faces. The apartment itself was spacious and light and offered everything you need. We loved the personal touches - from music to decoration - and it really felt like a second home in the sun. Whenever we didn't fancy going out for dinner/ lunch, we really made our own in the kitchen and dined on the terrace while overlooking the beach and watching the surfers. It came in quite handy to have the Fashion Club right opposite the apartment. We sometimes stopped by to have a quick drink and a chat with the friendly staff. They also happily helped us out with bits and bops we needed either late at night or at short notice. Overall, we had a really fantastic week in Santa Maria - probably the most relaxing holiday we ever had - and we will definitely be back! Thanks again for all your efforts, David! It really made the difference.

Appartement spacieux face à la mer
Nous avons passé un agréable séjour à Santa Maria Résidence. Appartement propre et spacieux, bien situé, à 10 mn à pied du centre de Santa Maria, à deux pas de l'école de kite-surf et en face du Fashion beach club, endroit très sympathique pour déguster un cocktail face à la mer. Nous y retournerons sans doute avec plaisir !

Apartment clean and spacious, well located, 10 mins walk from the center of Santa Maria, a stone's throw from the kite-surf school and opposite the Fashion beach club, very nice place to enjoy a cocktail facing the sea.
