Please note: The lane is a rural track, so an SUV/ 2x4/ 4x4 vehicle is recommended. However, owners of the properties use standard cars.
"Wow!" visitors often exclaim on arrival. "Oh, this is beautiful!", "I didn't realise it was so big!" "It's perfect!" The Barn has lovely triangular roof beams, floor-to-ceiling windows, and an expanse of wooden floor boards. There are terracotta floor tiles and attractive wall tiles in the kitchen and bathroom. Old and new furniture is tastefully combined so the place feels like a real home. The very comfortable bed is 160 cm. wide, and further single beds are available. Cooking is a pleasure in the luminous well-appointed kitchen. The large bathroom has a full-sized bath and semi-separate WC and bidet. The garden area is for your use, and outdoor furnit...

There are three houses in the hamlet; the other two houses are not let. Please respect the neighbours' property and peace. They are respectful of your privacy but are welcoming and very happy for my visitors to be here.

fantastic
This beautiful place makes a perfect holiday home. We stayed for a week in summer. It's such a welcoming, cosy, comfortable place with stunning views. It was amazing to be in such a quiet place - perfect to relax and get away from it all. You can start walks right behind the house. The household has anything you need. we enjoyed the open space of the barn,spend time in the garden, eat outside with spectacular views - we'll be back! Thanks for all!

quiet and inspiring landscape
I stayed at La Remise with a friend in mid October 2016. Being able to step out of the front door and set off on a walk (a different one each day) was wonderful. The landscape is spectacular and varied, so you can do easy strolls, walks that combine flat and gradually rising land, or choose more challenging slopes. Walking boots are necessary, unless you’re just going to do the paths closer to the house and up the lane. I appreciated being in the middle of the countryside but, at the same time, in such a comfortable and well supplied home. Evenings by the wood-burning stove were cosy. We also liked the fact that the other two houses were there - being in a little hamlet. Two ponies and two very friendly donkeys were on the land and we enjoyed making friends with them. On our last day a family of golden eagles appeared, circling overhead. An unusual and special place - perfect for a complete rest and recharging batteries!

DIAS RESPIRANDO A PLENO PULMON
Cuando lo que deseas, es de repente vivir todas las sensaciones contrarias a la ciudad, sitio amable, sala de dormir inmensa, tranquilidad, luz por todas las partes, paseos por el campo, respirar, incluso para llegar se pasa por una zona sin asfaltar como para que desaparezca todo recuerdo de la ciudad, es el sitio ideal.
Pero, también si necesitas comprar comida, o cenar en unos restaurantes entrañables, hay unos pueblos pequeños muy cerca, y no digamos si te da el día culto, en la zona hay un montón de castillos y lugares preciosos para visitar. Hemos estado muy a gusto.

Unique property in an amazing location
We had a fantastic stay in September, the barn was a really unique place to stay, it had everything we needed in terms of home comforts. The location was amazing, we had a great time cycling, walking and running and it was really difficult to leave and go further afield as there was so much we could do from the barn. We also loved the donkeys and ponies who would visit from time to time! Can't wait to visit again!

A renovated barn overlooking a valley in the pyrennes
This was our second visit to the barn and it is rare that me and my wife return to the same spot, we did so as the location and scenery surrounding this barn is wonderful. It is a tastefully renovated barn, set in a secluded valley in the Pyrenees. As one reviewer said, it is great for star gazing, but also walking in the moutains or in the valley or just around the grounds of the property. We enjoyed walking to a small disused chapel set between the mountatins.It is secluded, which we saw as a benefit and was a fantastically relaxing holiday.
It could not be a complete review without mentioning the helpfullness and support of the owner, she is wonderful and goes out of her way to make sure you have a good stay.

A truly unique place in a superb location
We spent a wonderful, relaxing few days here in May. A truly unique place and a stargazer’s paradise with some of the most spectacular scenery we’ve ever seen. Beautiful walking country perfect for the novice or experienced hiker.
Ideal for a writer’s/artist’s retreat or anyone who really wants to be in contact with nature and disconnect completely from the daily grind. The barn is a stunning open-plan space, beautifully converted.
Just as mentioned in owner Rebecca’s description, we did hear the frog chorus one evening, fed the visiting donkeys plus two horses and heard the cuckoo’s call which would give Delius a run for his money!
Well located for nearby towns and villages, wineries and less than an hour’s drive from the coast.
Cannot recommend highly enough.

A very special place
We really enjoyed our stay and highly recommend this accommodation to anyone who loves nature and wants to get away from it all. The views are stunning and there are some great walks right from your door. The Barn itself is a huge open-plan space which has been tastefully renovated. It has all the facilities you need, as well as local guidebooks, maps and information. The owner, Rebecca, was very welcoming and helpful - she even provided us with groceries and cooked us a meal because we arrived on Sunday evening when the shops were shut.
Two points to note: the turning to the Barn is easy to miss so try to arrive in daylight. Also, it's best to hire a car with reasonably good ground clearance as the track up is very bumpy in places.
All in all, an amazing place for a holiday. We’ll be back!

Wonderful feeling of peace and space
I'm going to find it hard to explain what made this place quite so extraordinary. The peace? The extraordinary countryside? The wonderful feeling of tranquillity in the barn itself...? Whatever it was, it was blissful. The barn has been beautifully converted into a VERY spacious studio with a high beamed ceiling and spectacular views down the valley and onto seemingly infinite mountain ranges beyond. It's been very simply and tastefully decorated - you can tell the owners are creative people and have made this a place they love to retreat to, it's got a warm, welcoming feel. You've got everything you would need but not any more than that - the whole thing just seems wonderfully uncluttered. It feels very much off the beaten track considering it's probably less than 20 mins to Lagrasse (by car) - once you turn off the main road you are plunged into pretty wild country side. A farmer keeps a couple of donkeys in the valley below you but other than that it seems entirely uncultivated for miles around. We did a couple of good walks directly from the house - for a city girl these were reasonably strenuous as it's hilly and rough going - you are using ancient pathways and animal paths most of the time. I was glad to have proper walking boots. Very sad to have missed seeing any of the wild boar who had made themselves a little mud bath up on the hill above us! At the highest point we got to, which was by no means the furthest or highest we could go - probably just 30 or 40 mins from the house) you could see 6 mountain ranges in two directions - it was magical. The owners leave a very comprehensive booklet about the house and the immediate area, including directions for good spots for river swimming which I would highly recommend exploring. Other than that you are left to your own devices. Perfect.

A car is necessary (SUV, 2x4 or 4x4 recommended, especially if renting). There is a local taxi services if you ever need a taxi. There is a good mechanics garage at nearby Saint Laurent de la Cabrerisse, which also has a 24 hour pay-by-card petrol pump, and petrol stations at Lézignan-Corbières (conveniently near a big supermarket) and Narbonne.
Saint Laurent, incidentally, has a bakery, a good small supermarket and a Tuesday open-air market, while Lézignan is the place for larger supermarkets, as well as a good open-air fresh-produce market on Wednesday.
