Sit on your back porch, relax and sip coffee as you take in the astounding views, along with being able to watch wildlife from your private deck and outdoor areas, while listening to the running creek down below. Come create your own memorable Asheville mountain experience! The home affords year round access, and is great for groups of any and all ages. The home is situated just outside of downtown Black Mountain, NC, affording privacy for everyone to relax & enjoy the feel of the WNC mountains. High Rock Acres is a private, exclusive community, whose residents are friendly and welcoming to guests, (if you even see them, since High Rock Acres has private, densely wooded lots that afford amazing privacy). Get ready to be “wowed” by the never-ending views from this contemporary mountain style retreat. With soaring vistas, high ceilings, vaulted rooms, and cozy spaces, you will immediately feel at home at Burnt Ridge Retreat. (That is of course if you can tear yourself away from the wrap-a-round decks & soaking in the spectacle of the Blue Ridge Mountains, & actually venture inside!) The recently constructed (in 2008), and only just renovated/updated estate home affords a stunning great room, massive Chef's grade kitchen, a lower level Great Rm, spacious bedroom/baths, and MORE; with plenty of space to unwind and gather with your group. But, if you need some “alone time”, there is plenty of space inside and out to find your own serenity. There are 4 outside porches, decks, and patios, and the private fire-pit for ultimate outdoor relaxation. Burnt Ridge Retreat has so much to offer guests; from hiking and walking trails, streams, and much more. (You can hike all the way down to the river if feeling adventurous!) While at Burnt Ridge, everyone enjoys all that the home has to offer; from the TV & Game Rm, Great Rm fireplace, and of course the spectacular decks, where you can pull up a chair and take in the "sound of silence", observe the night as it fills with stars, and watch the fire flies come out to play in your backyard. Take a seat and enjoy the sound of the babbling creek, along with the rest of nature, and all within the serenity in your own private paradise at the top of the world. You are also just a short drive from America's favorite scenic byway, The Blue Ridge Parkway, motorcycle touring, biking, hiking, white water rafting, rock climbing, kayaking, canoeing, zip lining, Segway tour…just about any outdoor activity! Or, take a ride to downtown Asheville to enjoy the first-rate restaurants, shopping, galleries, spas, and entertainment. Breathtaking Experience

A short and picturesque drive out of the beautiful quaint town of Black Mountain NC will bring you to this wonderfully warm and inspiring cabin. Nestled in the Blue Ridge Mountains is where my fiancé and I were lucky to stumble upon this beautiful escape. Breathtaking views of the valley and mountains surrounding are something that cameras and words cannot capture even at its highest level. Plenty of living space and comfortable accommodations make this hidden gem an incredible place to relax, unwind, and create memories.

Panoramic Mountain Views, Clean, Perfect!!

We stayed at Burnt Ridge Retreat in early October. We were a small group of girlfriends looking to escape Florida's heat & hoping to laugh, relax, indulge & enjoy each other's company, a change of seasons & (hopefully) some fall color. Burnt Ridge Retreat did not disappoint! It was everything we wished for & more! The amenities & comforts of a beautiful home, surrounded by the beauty & majesty of Mother Nature and night after night of the most amazing & toast-worthy sunsets! We will definitely be back! The house is so beautifully & thoughtfully furnished & clean, clean, clean! You can tell each element in this house has been hand-selected w/ function, comfort & taste in mind — rustic, soulful, & elegant, but definitely not cold or fussy. The wrap-around deck & windows throughout provide miles of breathtaking, panoramic mountain views. We were excited to welcome each day w/ a cup of coffee on the back deck. Sunsets are even better. A great bottle of wine is all you need! (And you can go to Merry's for that!) Asheville is just 20 minutes away! But the town of Black Mountain itself was a welcome surprise & shouldn’t be overlooked — cute & small town-y with 1 main street, but offering the big-city appeal of good to great restaurants, shops & things to do! Make a point to Black Mountain Visitor's Center in town is a wealthy of great info & so friendly! So many great things to do just outside your door — awesome hikes, biking, waterfalls, etc. The town of Montreat just outside Black Mountain is also a gem. We thought we’d be cooking most nights & maybe heading to Asheville for a big night out —especially w/ such a fantastic, gourmet kitchen at our disposal. However, we found we didn’t have to drive to Asheville for a great meal out. Some of our faves were: La Guingette, The Trailhead (craft beers, elevated pub fare), Dobra Tea, My Father's Pizza, the Dripolator & Merry Wine Market. Next time we want to try Roots Cafe & Louise's Kitchen. Pros: * Location, location, location: The drop-dead beauty & peace of the mountains w/ the comforts & amenities of the city within easy reach. * Incredibly well-stocked, gourmet kitchen: plenty of room to gather & cook together & all the tools, pots & pans & dishes you need. * Downstairs game/bunk room w/ foosball table, dart board, wii & lots of board games & DVD’s & a wine room for a different vibe * Tons of world-class hiking trails, waterfalls, biking, great restaurants, shops & even whitewater rafting close by. * Plenty of beds, room & amenities. Perfect for a gathering of friends, family reunion or several families to share — or just a small group looking for a beautiful, peaceful retreat w/ room to spread out. * Bedroom w/ separate entry & full bath downstairs, can be split into private quarters or send the kids downstairs Cons: At the time we visited, there wasn't an outside grill yet. (There is a grill on the kitchen range). I hear this has since been remedied & now they have both an outside grill & firepit! This just crossed off everything on my list!

Perfection

This home exceeded all of my expectations! It is a huge house and everything in the home is top quality from the gorgeous kitchen to the high thread-count sheets. The house was much bigger than I expected. And the view from both balconies was breathtakingly beautiful. Downtown Black Mountain was so charming with shops, restaurants, and the best little tea shop ever. We hiked a gorgeous waterfall that was just a few minutes away. Asheville isn’t that far away and the art and food there is so great. I could have spent weeks exploring this amazing place. I hope I have the opportunity to book this house again.

Gorgeous Mountain Home

You can tell the owners put a lot of tender loving care into this home. Decorated with local furnishings and décor from local vendors. It is very clean, well furnished and truly a beautiful home. The kitchen is stocked with everything you need and gorgeous views of the mountains while preparing your meals. We enjoyed morning coffee and evening sunsets on the main level deck that have terrific views of the mountains. Home has a short drive to Catawba Falls for hiking which was a spectacular hike to the falls and not far from Asheville. We loved the quaint town of Black Mountain with both great shops and food. We absolutely loved this mountain home and highly recommend.

Stunningly presented home; such a beautiful retreat nestled in the mountains

The location was wonderful, tucked in the mountains. It is a 'wow' retreat home; every detail has been thought of. So gorgeously decorated, you feel so taken care of, it is supplied with every convenience needed for a getaway. It is not far at all from Black Mountain, and only about 40 mins from Asheville airport.

Look no further, this is where you should stay.

We loved our time at Burnt Ridge Retreat! Set high in the mountains, this immaculate home was just the spot for relaxation and fun. This is a quiet, next-to-nature gem, perfect for a "reboot". No wonder we slept soundly in all of the 5 bedrooms! Downstairs is a great place for playing games, throwing darts, and playing foosball. There is also a little balcony off of the living area that is a quite a lovely respite from the crowd. The main floor of the house is welcoming and spacious. Enough room for everyone in our large group. We enjoyed time talking by the fire, both inside and out. The gas fireplace is toasty and the fire pit on the main level deck kept us warm while we drank in the breathtaking views! The chef's kitchen is well appointed and provided another perfect venue for spending quality time together. Upstairs is just as impressive with neatly decorated bedrooms and a huge bathroom. Views are stunning. What is so unique about this home is that the owners have constructed furniture and decorated the rooms themselves. This is original, high-quality stuff- think rustic-industrial using reclaimed wood and iron)! If not built by them, they have found amazing local artisans to provide beautiful work- among them is Steve Senn, a master woodworker who has lived in Black Mountain during his whole lifetime. You will also love the fine art work done by gifted Florida artist, Molly Pearce. Positive quotes and messages are throughout, adding to the joyous feel of the place. The retreat is located close to the charming town of Black Mountain (about a 10 minute drive), where we enjoyed, hiking, shopping, and dining (check out The Trailhead and Dobra Tea). We were also able to partake in daytrips to Asheville (the Grove Park Inn and Sierra Nevada Brewery) and other surrounding areas. This is the perfect site to vacation with family or friends. Not only is it everything described above, this warm home has a happy, embracing feeling that is all its own. Thank you for providing such lovely space!

Amazing Views, Beautiful Rental, this is the One!!!

Look no further, this place is truly amazing with breathtaking mountain top views and modern furnishings, comfortable beds and tons of sleeping space. It was one of the best vacation's I have ever had, and will definitely visit again!
