Grace Cottage in Porlock is a charming nineteenth-century property situated in the heart of the village, yet set back from the main road for peace and quiet. The cottage is very comfortable and well equipped, ideal for couples or families wanting to explore this lovely working village and Exmoor.
Grace Cottage in Porlock was remodelled about a decade ago to open up the downstairs living area into a more spacious and light-filled room in which to cook, eat and relax. In 2018 the property was sold to new owners who have dedicated a lot of time and attention to updating this lovely holiday cottage, including a new kitchen fitted with modern facilities; a new log burner in the sitting room for cosy evenings in, plus new beds and linen too. Great Cottage Excelent Location
We booked this cottage for a week and we were not disappointed.
There were just two of us.
It was very well furnished and the standard of decoration is very high.
The bed was comfortable.
The property is in a great location for exploring the village and surrounding areas.
It contained everything we needed.
The only small flaw we noticed was that the rubbish collection data was not up to date. Rubbish is collected weekly for recycling (unfortunately there were no recycling boxes everything went in black bags) and the bins were collected 2 weekly - in keeping with the rest of the country. The listed schedule only went up to June. However it was not a problem in that we were able to tell from what other houses put out for collection which week we were in.

What a beautiful cottage
The property has recently been refurbished to a very high standard, with a new kitchen, beds, bedding and redecorated throughout. There is everything you could possibly want - a real home from home. It is well situated in a very quiet alley near the church with parking for 2 cars nearby. The village has many pubs and restaurants all of which are reasonably priced and serve good food. This is an ideal location for exploring and walking on Exmoor, with or without a dog (which is welcome in the cottage). We will be back!

Lovely cottage
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Grace Cottage, in fact I could move in straight away! The cottage had everything we wanted, was in a good location and everyone was so friendly. Such a lovely village. We recommend staying here.

Lovely village and holiday. Cottage ok.
Porlock is a wonderful place for a holiday. A great base from which to explore this stunning area. Lots of nice shops, cafes and places to eat.
The cottage was 'fine' . Pretty clean, all the basics. I just think for over £600 for one week we should have had more. Little would be needed to raise the place to a higher level: matching decor, decent dining chairs, no wallpaper hanging off the walls.
We'd come back to Porlock but we royjdnt go back to that cottage.

cosy and convenient
Brilliant location to explore coast and Exmoor.
Cottage was clean and warm with every thing we needed. I would have liked the kitchen to have been better equipped but that's because I like to cook most evenings.

Grace Cottage Porlock
We (2 adults, 2 children and a Cocker Spaniel) had a fabulous time at Grace Cottage. It was very quaint, but had everything we needed. It is in an excellent location in Porlock with easy access to everywhere. It tool a while for the water to warm up so would recommend all visitors to turn on the water switch as soon as they arrive.
