Colourmill Cottage is situated on the edge of the Peak District. The cottage is a lovely retreat with stone floors, handmade wooden doors, open fire and woodburning stoves. Three good size bedrooms and two bathrooms. One bathroom has a jacuzzi bath and speakers in the ceiling to relax to music! Good quality furniture and furnishings make it very comfortable to stay in. Kitchen well equipped with quality appliances as well as oil 'aga' style cooker. Dining room is a great entertaining space with open fire and herringbone wood floor and is stunning.

Fantastic location and incredible home
Great location and an incredible home. The wonderful host took great care in making sure we enjoyed our stay. I only wish we could have stayed for longer! : )

Amazing cottage, great host, it was perfect A++++++++
We stayed there for one night, the place was immaculate and had everything we needed for the night.
i surely recommend others to visit the cottage, i am definitely going back next time :)

Great place for a short break
Lovely cottage refurbished to a high standard. The welcome back of chocolates and crisps was a nice surprise. The supply of coffee and tea and all the basics for cooking meant we didn't have to buy or bring these. The beds are the comfiest we have had away from home. Large supply of logs for the wood burning stove and the jacuzzi bath was just what was needed after a couple of rounds of golf. Lovely setting by the river and a great place to get into the hills, play some golf and eat out in good local pubs. The guide provided by the owner to the local area was very helpful. The cotttage accepts dogs and the wooden floors mean it is easy to keep things clean and not worry about carpets. Can't fault the service and standard of accommodation.

Beautiful, quintessential English cottage in the heart of the country
I stayed at the cottage for one night and had a fantastic stay. The hosts were incredibly responsive and on hand to help get checked in (with some treats on arrival!) and were incredibly knowledgeable of the surrounding local area helping us make the most of our stay.
The property was immaculately clean and beautifully decorated throughout with all the mod cons anyone would expect to have.
I couldn't recommend the property highly enough and it's absolutely perfect for a family or group of friends.

Ideal family getaway
Recently took the family away for a few days to this great little cottage which feels away from everything but within a few miles of major shops, pubs etc. Hosts were great to deal with, all needs catered for and the cottage itself is deceiving as the grounds and rooms are bigger than I expected. All in all, a great getaway for either a family or couple looking for a few days away from it all. Would definitely go again

Lovely country cottage retreat
Spacious cottage with all traditional features combined with mod cons...served our 3 family getaway really well. We made good use of outdoor space including garden and stream. Close to lots of peak District attractions. Excellent communications with owner who was very welcoming leaving us a hamper of goodies and ensuring all the children had their own bed.
My only comment for improving would be to add more hooks to hang towels and clothes in bathrooms and rooms...hanging space is limited when there are 9 of you. Definitely recommend.

Beautiful, warm and relaxing.
We booked one day and arrived the next with ease. Finding this beautiful cottage at the last minute was a real treat for us. It’s obviously well-loved, beautifully cared for and the owner is helpful and welcoming (even to our noisy excited little dogs) simply excellent! (The photos don’t show how big it actually is as it’s lovely and spacious)

Beautiful country cottage
We had a fabulous stay at Colourmill Cottage. We were made to feel extremely welcome and all the finishing touches made it feel like a home from home (only better!). Super comfy beds, clean throughout and fully equipped kitchen. It was perfect for our family break - exactly what we were looking for and I can’t wait for our return visit!

Small piece of Heaven
This cottage instantly makes you fall in love with it. From the moment you pull up outside its beautiful old exterior you really feel like you have found a hidden gem. The cottage is fully equipped with everything you could need, and then some!
The kitchen is equipped with an old aga oven which not only keeps the cottage cosy and warm, but is also a pleasure to use. With 6 adults, 2 kids and 3 pugs - space is a must! and this cottage has it in abundance. We had plenty of space each and a lovely area for us all to gather around a large dinning table for family meals.
Stepping into the garden is like stepping into your own piece of the countryside. With a stream running along the front of the garden and a lovely seating area facing out into the countryside - there is no where better to have a glass of fizz in the warm afternoon sun.
Eleanor was very helpful and welcoming to all of the party.
We are already looking to come again!
