Lovely place to stay! Quaint and beautiful area!
The quaint and historic town of Jamestown is wonderful. Our family of four stay here each summer for 2 weeks and enjoy all that New England has to offer. The condo is spacious and beautifully decorated with all the modern ammenties available. The huge bonus, for us, would be the laundry room, no more returning home and having to wash clothes. Jamestown is beautiful and the condo/apt is within walking distance to everything, grocery store, restauants, library, the harbor-East and West ferry harbors- beaches and so much more. It's just an hours drive to Boston and a few hours to New York City. This will continue to be our summer destination for years to come.

Couldn't Be Better!
If you're looking for a location from which to base your New England vacation, I don't think you could do any better than this retreat in Jamestown. Not only is Jamestown and the surrounding areas of Newport, Narragansett, etc. full of activities, beauty and fun, but it serves as the perfect hub for day trips to Boston, Cape Cod, Martha's Vineyard, Nantucket, Providence and other areas.
Jamestown is the perfect place to "get away from it all" while still offering all the creature comforts you might need (dining, groceries, fuel, etc.). The harbor/downtown area of Jamestown is quaint yet full of life and there are plenty of activities right on the island to keep your family busy for days (kayaking, bike riding, sailing, etc.). Some of our favorite restaurants were within walking distance from the retreat.
Just over the Claiborne Pell Newport Bridge to the east is the town of Newport, with a multitude of activities, dining and sightseeing. Take in a lighthouse boat tour, visit the mansions, shop, dine and don't miss the sunset from Castle Hill.
If you want to jump in the car, Boston, Cape Cod and ferries to Nantucket and Martha's Vineyard are an easy drive. Point Judith, Westerly and Providence are also nearby.
Best of all, when you finish your day, the retreat you return to is top notch...it's been totally updated with all the modern amenities you'd expect from a upscale hotel room including a full kitchen with new appliances and granite countertops, two full-size bedrooms, a modern bathroom and space to just hang out, watch some TV and relax.
Our family could have easily spent another week here and we definitely plan to go back. Now that we're familiar with the area (this was our first trip to New England), we look forward to our return.
If you're the type that has to always be connected, bring a smart phone or visit the public library across the street as there's no on-site wi-fi.
If you have any interest in visiting New England, this is the place to stay!

Great location!
We had a wonderful time. The rental unit was as advertised and neat as a pin. Close to Narragansett, beaches, shops and historic sites. I would highly recommend this rental. We actually met the owner, and he is very friendlly and accomadating to his guests.

Center of Jamestown Island
This apartment is on the second floor of a two-family house located on a busy road. It’s about a half mile to the downtown area, and no place on the island is more than a short drive away. The unit itself is as described, very clean and recently updated. Each bedroom has a window air conditioner, but the kitchen and the living-dining room do not. Kitchen is well-equipped, and there are two TVs with DVD players, but no wifi.
Rental policies here are extremely strict. There’s a five page rental agreement, a $75 “inspection fee” and a warning that an additional charge of $150 could be assessed for cleaning. Not wanting to risk our security deposit, we barely used the apartment except to sleep and shower. Nevertheless, on the day we left, it was necessary to get up early because we were required to wash and dry sheets and towels, clean the bathroom, sweep the floors, vacuum the rugs and wipe down the counters - all before the mandatory check out time of 11 AM.

Thanks for staying with us Ken! Regarding our check out is is very casual and sometimes allow later check outs for guest on many occasions. The 11am is not strict unless we have back to back rentals. If guest would like to pay the cleaning fee we do offer cleaning services at $150 per stay which includes cleaning the sheets and towels. Most guest would prefer to do about 45 minutes of cleaning while laundry is being done rather than pay the $150 cleaning fee. It's up to our guest to decide before booking or within 10 days before their stay. As always we want our guest to be completely satisfied with their accommodations to assure this we must be specific with what we expect from our guest therefore we do have a long rental agreement. Thanks again for booking with us and we look forward to your future visit!

Loved our Stay
We were looking for a location from which to base our vacation to see and visit the RI locations we enjoy, As I travel extensively, I didn't want to stay in a hotel, We don't think you could do any better than this condo located in Jamestown. Echoing some of the other comments and reviews, we found Jamestown and the surrounding areas of Newport, Narragansett, etc. full of activities, beauty and fun. This condo served as the perfect hub for our planned day trips.
Walking to the restaurants, ice cream shop, church, post office, fully stocked grocery store,
pharmacy, gas station, breakfast deli is such a bonus.
Traveling over the Newport Bridge to the east into the town of Newport was a breeze, Newport has lots of activities, dining, sightseeing and shopping . We took a sailboat boat tour, the wife shopped, and had some great dining experiences. The sunset from Castle Hill was spectacular, We were blessed with perfect weather.
We went to Martha's Vineyard which is an easy drive from the Condo, Point Judith, Westerly and Providence are also easy commutes as well.
We enjoyed the end of each tiring day by returning to a great place to stay...it's been updated with all the modern amenities.This includes a full kitchen with new appliances and granite counter tops, two full-size bedrooms, a modern bathroom and a small dining room table to read a paper or have breakfast in the morning. Its just felt like home.
The owners were extremely helpful from the time we left our house, including guiding us in, and the suggestions we received made our stay much better. Paul responded quickly to any requests we had. I can say, you will want for nothing!

We definitely, love the location of our place as it is situated a short drive to Cape Cod, Boston, Newport, Southern New England Winery Tours, the large mansion tours and many other local attractions. Location, Location, Location
We were looking for a place that we could base out of in Rhode Island to explore neighboring states. This is a perfect location. It is on a main road but the bedrooms are in the back so the noise from the road is not a problem. The unit has a fully equipped kitchen which was important to us. There is parking and allows for easy access in and out. Another advantage is the ability to walk to all local restaurants and shops. My only caution is that the stairs to this second floor unit are rather steep so if you have any issues with stairs this is probably not the unit for you.

2nd floor rental space convenient to both cafes, shops and other Jamestown sites.
Space for two couples or couple with 2 or 3 children. The two bedrooms are cooled with window A/C units. Compact kitchen with everything you need. You take stairs from the front door to a landing on 2nd floor of the cottage where there is a lockbox and the owner will give you code details when you checkin. There is a very nice Community Playground in walking distance across the road, along with a fun coffee shop and ice cream shop/cafe on the same side, also in walking distance. One of the three driveway spots is for the 2nd floor vacation rental but a car can also park along the shoulder right in front of the house. There was usually a nice breeze on the front porch. The Cumberland Farms gas station and convenience store are also quite close. It's only a half mile plus via North Road and Narragansett Avenue to the restaurants, shops and harbor area of Jamestown.
