Outside is a side lawned garden with a patio and furniture and off road parking for two cars. Barley Meadow is a fabulous, well-presented cottage in the heart of Devon where a warm welcome awaits. Two well-behaved dogs welcome - £20 supplement per pet, per stay. Stately home lovers will be spoiled and why not finish with a scrumptious Devonshire cream tea? Town: Okehampton is a busy market town on the edge of the Dartmoor National Park and near the highest and most dramatic areas of the moor, where Yes Tor rises to a height above 2000 feet. To the north of Okehampton are some beautiful rolling Devon hills where small farming villages nestle amidst woods and fields with plenty of gently flowing rivers.

Hard to beat
Stayed here for last week in August. Good base for touring round Devon and into Cornwall. On arrival you are met by the owners, a genuinely friendly couple Peter and Jackie. They can’t do enough for you and really make you feel at home. This is reinforced with the cream tea at the kitchen table and welcoming hamper with a few necessities. The cottage is very well equipped, from the dishwasher, washing machine and dryer in the kitchen to the robes for the hot tub. The hot tub itself is great, with plastic glasses provided for drinks whilst you look over the impressive views. We spent many hours in there, in all weathers! The garden also has tables, chairs and sun beds. The beds are comfy with excellent bedding and pillows. My son made friends with Fred the cat, who was often waiting for a stroke when you appeared in the morning. I would recommend this cottage to everyone with the only downside the frustrating jigsaws!!
