Fantastic stay at The old School House
I was one of the family party of 11 who stayed for a weekend celebration of a 50th birthday. We had a fantastic stay. It snowed heavily and the children and the dogs had a wonderful time. The house is lovely and warm with comfortable beds and a very well equipped kitchen. We enjoyed the table tennis and the space within the house for all of us. The caretaker Hazel was very helpful and organized to come with the farmer with a tractor to clear the driveway of snow so that we could get out. Thank you! We are already lookinh at booking for next year

Dirty accommodation with mice for company
When we arrived the kitchen floor was sticky to walk on so had to wash it! We had to use a whole packet of floor wipes because it was so black and filthy. One bath had a cooked mushroom in the plug hole!! My daughter-in-law thought someone must have thrown up in the bath! Yuk!! There was broken glass on the floor in the loung/dining room area, an old shrivelled lime and a sticky substance over one of the sofas. There was a previous renters hand cream under one of the beds which was clearly visible as you walked up the stairs! Then three days into the holiday we discovered we had an issue with mice running around the place and found mouse droppings everywhere!!! The mice chewed one of my grandchildren’s toys! The housekeeper brought us mice traps when we contacted her and one mouse was caught but there were still mice running around! Fortunately we were only staying 3 more nights which nearly became far fewer, we decided to stick it out because it was going to be our only holiday of 2020 due to COVID. We were definitely not satisfied with how this was all dealt with on our return!!! The positive was the location and having no other properties nearby!

School House
Excellent house in a beautiful and very peaceful location. House is very well equipped with all things one would need for a short stay. Unfortunately we were there for just the bank holiday weekend and wish we could have stayed longer. It's within easy access to most beaches and walking trails. View from the house is breathtakingly beautiful.

Outstanding house and perfect fir us.
The house is of good size. We had eleven of us including three children. The house is well equipped, good sized bedrooms, great bathrooms and a perfect spot.
We had a perfect weekend in an outstanding accommodation and perfect and great views of the moors.

What A Find
Masses of room for mixed groups of guests, 2 large sitting rooms, downstairs bedrooms with bathrooms and more upstairs too.
Fabulous views over the valley below.
Quiet and peaceful
Lots of distractions

Spacious accomodation at a peaceful location
Celebrated Granny's 70th birthday with family members using the 'classroom' inside and the outside eating facilities. We stayed for a week and had really good weather which helps in this location. Took a gentle walk down the field to the village pub and on to Watersmeet. Had a more arduous but very rewarding trek along the coastal path to Lynmouth.

Wonderful house. Had all we needed. Great location.
All the family thought that The School House was a great place for a family weekend away. Large and comfortable and location good. Walks nearby. Everything needed was provided. The family particularly enjoyed playing table tennis. All arrangements went very smoothly. No problems.

Beautiful location, fabulous space!
Large spacious cottage with plenty of seating for all guests. Great house for a celebration - massive main living space with counter separating the kitchen. Well equipped kitchen. Another smaller, more intimate lounge with cosy feel. Two downstairs rooms with bathroom & further rooms & bathrooms upstairs. Great starting point for walks. Loved our stay so much, we went back. Recommended!

Great space to get away with friends
Loved our stay here. The views were great and it had everything we needed. The 2 lounge spaces ment were not under each others feet all the time.
