Fantastic week in Cosy Cottage
A lovely, warm and welcoming cottage in a stunning location .. a great base to explore all Harris and Lewis have to offer , stunning beaches and fantastic wildlife . Will be recommending Cosy Cottage to family and friends .

Peace and Tranquilty.
Cosy Cottage is well named as it is very cosy.
With David’s directions the cottage was easy to find - just 40 minutes drive from Stornoway.
Kitchen well stocked with cooking utensils including cloths, washing up liquid etc.
Beds very comfortable.
Shower more than adequate.
Towels also provided.
Would have been nice to have had an outdoor table and chairs in the garden but there are benches to sit on.
Beautiful views.
We had the bonus of seeing wild stags on two of our days along with various majestic Eagles.
Perfect base to explore both Harris and Lewis.
The host kept in contact from intial booking, during our stay and when leaving.
Thankyou David for making our whole experience such a joy.
Did not want to leave and will for sure return.
Louise and Jill two friends who ticked off another one from their bucket list. 😄

Lives up to its name!
The cottage is tucked away in the very picturesque South Lochs area. It's rather remote; we saw more deer than people! The accommodation is very clean, comfortable and cosy (of course!) and is well equipped for four people, although there were only two of us. David's communication with us was first class and he quickly responded to our queries.
We were very happy at Cosy Cottage, despite indifferent weather. Both the Harris hills and the Lewis coasts are within a reasonable drive. We also enjoyed a walk across to the abandoned village of Stiomrabhaigh.
Tall people may need to bear in mind that there is quite limited headroom in the double bedroom. Parking is on the roadside a few steps from the cottage.

We decided to pick David and his cosy cottage as we had a family event in the nearby village lemreway. The communication we received from David was excellent with quick and personal response.
The cottage has everything you need from WiFi plenty of extra towels and bedding. The house is spacious and warm great for the unpredictable Hebridean weather. This area is truly beautiful and magical it's almost a place where time has stopped. Peaceful and great for explorers with fishing, shooting and bird watching to name a few.
For holidaying I would recommend a car from Stornoway as it is about an hour's drive from the airport. I think there is a bus that travels through the village occasionally. It's really out the way and very secluded and private for those wanting to escape the hustle and bustle of the city.

Hebridean hideaway
Very cosey cottage in a stunning location on the east coast of Lewis.
The position of the cottage was ideal for our stay for visiting the many areas of interest from the beaches to the mountains this island has it all!!!.
The owner David was more than helpful from the initial booking through to completion of our stay.
Will definitely be back!!!!

The ideal place for peace and exploration
The cottage is situated in a very quiet position near a beautiful sea inlet, Gravir is a beautiful, quiet area. The cottage is cosy in name and in character and everything that you need is at hand. There is a very helpful book explaining how things work. The owner, David, is great and was helpful every step of the way from booking, to directions and advice about the island. This was our first visit to the Outer Hebrides and I suspect it will not be our last. The beauty and calm of the landscape wove its magic and we had a wonderful time exploring lochs, beaches, standing stones, blackhouse village and an exhilarating boat trip.

A real gem
From the time I paid the deposit to the day I arrived, David was extremely helpful in answering all my questions. The cottage was very clean and was very cosy for my family. The kids loved the upstairs bedrooms with eves !!!
Location-wise I found it very conveniently placed with equal distance to places like Butt of Lewis Lighthouse and Luskentyre Beach ⛱ The surrounding is very peaceful and on a day with good weather it is absolutely wonderful. Will definitely be back :)

Autumn break
What a great cosy wee cottage. Perfectly situated for trips all round Lewis and Harris. We had a lovely break exploring and getting away from the pandemic with a mix of socially distanced eating out, take aways, picnics and self catering. Food, exercise raw nature and scenery at its best. Best day was eating fish and chips at the end of the day after walking from Dalbeg to Shawbost along the cliffs past Stac a Phris, then watching an otter hunt and eat it's dinner near Gravir before going back to cosy cottage to watch a good film and then into a most comfortable bed at the end of the day. What could be better. Thank you

A wonderful winter stay.
If you are looking for a cottage that is away from the hustle and bustle of larger villages with great walks straight from the front door, then cosy cottage is the ideal place to stay.
We stayed here in December and January and managed to get out and about despite the changeable weather. It was always a great place to return and the cosiness lived up to its name.
The traditional hebridean cottage was reasonably priced and we felt right at home the moment we stepped through the door.
