Simply perfect
This place was everything we could have asked for. We wanted to be able to spend time at Punalu’u Beach without the crowds, and this enabled us to go early and be there until sundown. It gave us perfect access to Volcanoes National Park, and close to some great restaurants and bakeries.
The complex itself is really lovely, the pool setting overlooking the ocean is gorgeous. We loved having the balcony and spent most evening out there.
The condo has more than everything you need. So many extras, it was fantastic. Nicely set out and really clean. The bed was comfy too.
We were unfortunate to have unusual humidity for the entire of our stay, so we used the pool a lot.
Loved being able to park outside the door too. Would definitely stay here again. Thank you so much! :)

Black Sands Condo
The condo was absolutely beautiful!! It was exquisitely maintained and had an awesome view. We enjoyed our stay and would certainly book again on our next trip.

Great place to get away and stay!
We really did love our time here! We spent two weeks at Colony One in this rental. The facilities were perfect, very clean, organized and homey. The owners very helpful and the place peaceful.
We appreciated the privacy we had as well as the accommodations. We cooked almost every meal here and found we had everything we needed: dishes, cooking pans, left over containers, even a wine stopper and clips to keep our chips fresh tasting. It’s the little details of a place that make it a great stay and this definitely was!
Be prepared to drive a bit if you want to get into the busier areas like Kona and Hilo. However, if you’re wanting to get away and slow down, this is the place. We would definitely reccomend our stay here at Sea Mountain!

Little piece of heaven
My fiancee and I enjoyed four wonderful nights there. The spot is great if you are looking for something outside the touristy places such as Hilo or Kona. You can see and hear the ocean from the balcony. The black beach close by is amazing. We saw turtles there. The owners prepared the condo so welcoming, we really felt home right away. It was nice and clean - the furniture including the bed are very comfortable, and the kitchen is well equipped. We used our rental care to get around the island. Pahala, the closest village, is a couple of minutes away. And it takes about 25min to get to the Volcano. Overall, the location is not too remote, even if you plan any trips to go around the island. We would love to come back in the future!

A well-furnished, quiet condo, close to beach
As a solo traveler who likes to avoid crowds, this was an ideal location and comfortable home base. Loved the lanai view of the ocean and the pool.It was a short walk to the black sand beach, and a half-hour drive to Volcano or South Point made it fun to explore the south island region. The hosts provided all the information needed before hand and offered suggestions that were helpful for touring.

Very relaxing!
Had a great time here. Great view from balcony also had a breeze. We loved relaxing by the pool and met some really great people. We will be back and plan on staying here!

Hideaway is a great name - clean,quiet but out of the mainstream
The unit was clean, very comfortable,quiet, everything you might need is there! If you want a quiet, comfortable place to stay, this is it, but it is definitely a long ways from the "action" of shopping etc - very close to the amazing volcano!!

Our vacation was outstanding, starting with this condo. Photos don't do it justice--what a wonderful place to stay...so well placed, clean, thoughtfully decorated, peaceful. And so affordable! We'll be back!

Exactly as it is pictured!
Great location in the Kau district if you are looking to get away from the tourism industry of Kona. The place is exactly as it is pictured online. View from the balcony is spectacular. Condo is outfitted with everything you could possibly need. Well taken care of and clean. Easy drive to Volcano National Park. Quaint towns nearby to satisfy shopping needs. Black Sand beaches are wonderful--take the time to see the Sea Turtles. Golfing on property as well.

Everything you need
A 1 bedroom condo built in the 70's in an interesting Hawaiian style with the high peaked ceiling. It also had a lanai facing the ocean with a breeze and sound of the surf. Even more importantly whenever one rents a house one wonders what needs to be purchased: We arrived to find it has a washer/dryer, the small type for light loads only, a drying rack, snorkeling masks, 3 sizes of coolers, all necessary pots and pans, coffeemaker, toaster, blenders, bowls. There was a hair dryer, extra sunscreen, beachtowels, cleaning supplies. There were books on local restaurants, recommended attractions and, although the owners live elsewhere, a local contact person for emercencies. I had no problems with the wifi in the diningroom where I had my tablet plugged in. Would I return? IN A HEARTBEAT!! If I were to win the lottery (yes, I'd have to break down and buy a ticket) I would BUY in this locale. If you want to be waited on hand and foot...go to a hotel! If you want to live Hawaii..this has EVERYTHING you need.
