THE VIEW SAVED THE VILLA
Breathtaking scenery, amazing views and beautiful sunsets. Lots of Griffin Vultures and Short Toed Eagles flying above the villa.
Access route to villa long and rough so maybe a 4x4 would have been more suitable.
The villa is typically spanish in the fact that it is rustic but clean. A kettle would have been
useful however. Loads of towels, bed was average and sheets were poor fitting and thin quality. Might be an idea to bring a tablet as only spanish tv available however wifi was available. Welcome food basket provided. Suggest that a basic information pack is provided with emergency numbers, nearest supermarkets, petrol stations, restaurants etc. especially as this villa is one of many owned by Miguel.
Outside furniture is tired and worn of which some of it was held together with tape either on cushions or sunloungers. This is Spain so there are barking dogs part day and night. This aside it did not spoil what was a lovely holiday with lovely visits to Zahara the other side of the lake. Miguel and Christian were friendly and on hand to assist. A beautiful region of Spain.

Stunning
We had a truly fantastic time at La Canada. The property and view is utterly stunning. Perfection. The booking process was easy, the directions to El Gastor were brilliant, and Miguel & his English speaking son were there to greet us and take us up to the property and show us around, making sure that we had everything we needed. (Miguel's english is pretty good too!)
We barely left the villa all week... only quick trips away to get groceries... we had everything we could need right there at the villa. Most of the the time we spent around the pool, watching the sun rise and sun sets. The way the light changes on the lake from one hour to the next is just spectacular. If you are looking for somewhere to recharge, and get away from it all, deep in nature, then you couldn't ask for a better location or property.
Our only complaint is that we hoped to book it again this year, but its already booked up!! We often come to the Lake Zahara area on holiday, usually staying somewhere new each time...but this is one property that we definitely hope to stay at again, and again... and again.... :-)

Very relaxing week with an amazing view
Really enjoyed our stay. The villa is great the view is amazing and the outdoor space is ideal. El Gastor is a quiet, traditional village, we found everybody friendly and helpful. Ronda is about 30 minutes drive away and the Grazalema national park area is nearby. If you want quiet, relaxation with spectacular local scenery then this place is perfect.
