Maravillosa cueva
Es la segunda vez que visitamos está cueva, y nunca defrauda. Esta vez hemos venido en verano para disfrutar de la piscina y del fresquito de la cueva. Todo genial. La cueva está muy bien equipada con todo lo que necesitas. La otra ve fue en invierno y quedamos encantados con su sueño radiante. Sin duda una maravilla. Y el anfitrión, Matt, super amable. Gracias

5TH VISIT
This cave never fails for a blissfully relaxing holiday. Its just sooooo calming. Everything is just perfect and the host (Matt) is extremely attentive and nothing is too much trouble. If you want to totally "get away from it all" then you will not be disappointed. The town of Baza is just a 5-10 min drive away where you can get everything you will need and more. We cannot recommend it enough if you want to re-charge or go into town where you will find lots of history and restaurants. A MASSIVE thanks to Matt for your exceptional hosting skills.

Amazing place!
We’re just back from 9 days in this amazing cave house!
Absolutely lovely place to chill out and relax. Just look at the view in the photo!
The cave is well equipped to make the stay really comfortable and it’s so relaxing when you enter the coolness of the cave after a day in the hot sun!!
There were four in our party and there was loads of room for us all.
The pool area is fantastic and was a welcome relief to be able to have a swim when the sun was at its hottest.
Matt was a fabulous host, full of helpful information on the local area and at the end of a phone if we ever needed anything.
Nothing was too much trouble.
We got a change of bed linen and towels during our stay which was much appreciated as in our experience this hasn’t always been the case in other places.
I would highly recommend this as a place to stay if you want to get away from it all.

Relaxing, quirky and so peaceful!
Cuevas Del Cipres has become a “ second home” to us. Set out side the town of Baza offering solitude and an instant “chill/unwind” factor. The cave is spacious, well maintained and on hot days remains cool inside. It has a private pool, a table tennis table and pétanque area.
The host Matt grows various vegetables and we were able to enjoy picking and eating tomatoes, aubergine, figs, cucumber and melons which were delicious. Matt is incredibly helpful having a fund of local information and very patient with any concerns or queries his guests may have!
Baza, with supermarkets and cafes/ restaurants is about 10 minutes drive away. It’s a delightful town and great for eating out in if you want a change from BBQs by the pool! There are also many walks nearby and a massive lake which is well worth visiting.
We are already booked in for next year.

Relaxing and felt safe in these pandemic times.
This was our fourth holiday in Cuevas del Cipres, and we enjoyed it as much as ever. Matt, the owner has been busy decorating and adding small but noticeable extra touches within the cave and has cultivated his garden, now growing vegetables and fruit ( marrows, pumpkin, tomatoes and figs).
The cave was spotless on our arrival, as was the pool area and all Covid advice appeared to have been followed to the letter.
We ( my husband, my son and daughter in law) didn’t, as we normally do, go out and about in the nearby lovely old town of Baza, even though we could have done if wearing our masks. We chose instead to do one big shop at one of Baza’s large supermarkets and then stay at the cave where we could relax, read, play table tennis or Boules and go for country walks.
Thank you Matt for yet another wonderful visit, Covid permitting we shall return in June .... knowing we will be as safe as it is possible to be.

Another relaxing visit!
Having been to Matt’s cave several times already we knew what to expect, but did wonder if - now we are retired- we would appreciate the relaxation and solitude as much as before. We needn’t have worried, it was as great as ever!
The cave is large, the bedrooms well spaced out so there is privacy for everyone. We have been with friends, family ( including a 1 year old) and also by ourselves and the cave and the surrounding garden/ pool area accommodates all ages. The temperature in the cave remains a pretty constant and comfortable 17-18 degrees, even when in the high 40’s outside as it was on our first visit.
There is now a full sized table tennis table up by the pool, a Boules “court” and a chill out cave.
If you like walking there are many walks nearby, Matt has a “ book” in the cave which gives good info on walks, the local lake - worth a visit- and lots of places to eat in nearby Baza, which we think is a delightful town to wander through, stopping for the occasional coffee, beer or wine!
Matt is incredibly helpful guy and always ready to give information and advice.
We are already booked again for next year, and can’t wait! I would thoroughly recommend it as a peaceful escape in very different surroundings.

Tranquil and excellently equipped holiday location for a peaceful family break.
From the moment we met Matt, the friendly and knowledgeable owner and started to explore the cave we loved everything about it. When you are actually there in the cave, you realise it as a lot bigger than the pictures make it seem, the ceilings and doorways are higher then they appear in the photo's and any fears you may have about having no natural light are instantly dispelled. Also, we are a family of five and we didn't feel on top of each other at all, if anything the opposite, there was enough space (and plug sockets and wifi) to accommodate us all with ease.
Matt lives nearby and the only occasion we had a small problem he was there within half an hour to fix it. Matt also had the pool cleaned and the bedding/ towels changed while we where there.
The pool area is clean and a really relaxing place with plenty of shade to be had to escape the sun, with lots of choices of seating. The view outside towards the mountains is stunning and a perfect place to watch the sun go down, and if you wait, the milky way is visible arching over the hill.
Although it feels remote the beautiful town of Baza is only 5 minutes drive away with it's wide selection of shops and supermarkets (open Mon-Sat until 9:30 p.m.).
Matt made us feel really welcome and we had a really great holiday, we would definitely consider a return to Cuevas Del Cipres.

The most magical experience
We had the delight of staying at Matts beautiful cave in July for 11 nights the cave house and surrounding area are amazing so well maintained and looked after. Matt was an excellent host and made us feel extremely welcome. The pictures do not show just how big the place is - like your own mansion with loads of space and land. Pool area is fab and excellent for the kids to play and enough space for adults to relax and spend time day or evening. Beautiful spot to watch the most wonderful sunsets. Cave house massive loads of space for a big family - loads of family rooms massive kitchen that has every thing you need plus more ! Great sized bathrooms with lovely cave features and bedrooms with super comfortable beds and loads of storage space. We were amazed by the place and would recommend to anyone looking for a holiday with a difference total relaxation and pure family time - kids liked the wi-fi and Apple TV when we had to come in to get out of the super hot sunshine. Couldn’t recommend enough - we didn’t want to leave

Unforgettable place to stay... want to go again and again!
We first stayed at "the cave house" as we call it about 5 years ago. The owner Matt has worked endlessly each year improving the house (which we loved anyway!) adding more and more amazing and wonderful features. It now even has a private pool area which is definitely welcome in the summer desert heat. My family and I have had many great adventures here and the kids ask us every year if we can go back. On the practical side - it's perfectly equipped with modern plates/cutlery/coffemaker/bbq/television/internet etc. Next time we'll go for a winter stay and we can't wait to see what else he's been up to! Oh yes..the new bathroom under the starts...awesome!

This place is amazing !!!
Can't recommend the experience highly enough .
Such an unusual house in a magical setting. If you like peace and quiet and love open clear vistas and endless stars at night then this place has it. Great pool and small boutique hotel nearby if you want to go for a drink or have lunch . My kids loved it. Like being on a Star Wars set !!
