staff can not be trusted , one of the worst places in Ella 👎 Do not trust these people ❌ Because of this people we had to try many places, most of them are excellent, and friendly. Please try some other places ✌️

The location is great (just 2 min walk from the town center, although far enough to be surrounded by a pastoralic garden). The rooms are elegantly designed, spacious and very clean. Sonny and his wife couldn’t be more kind and welcoming. Highly recommend!

Located in 3 min walk to Ella center dynamic Wi-Fi and hot water services.entrence clean shower room hospitality reception were great. Infromation recieved with a printed map made our story entirly fruitful.

The most elegant hotel for the price in our tour.breakfast at the buffet was the best. Only hotel we received a welcome letter before arrival. Really clean. Comfortable bedding thanks for the management. 👍🙂

Prima voor een nacht maar niet bijzonder. Bedden zijn OK. Personeel is vriendelijk. Ella is bagpack paradise en daar zijn de voorzieningen op aangepast.

Hotel was conveniently located, but room was not clean. Bedsheets and pillow casings had yellow stains and were damp. Room had a stale and musty smell the entire time we stayed no matter how much we opened the windows to air the room and kept the ceiling fan switched on. Bathroom was somewhat clean, with a couple of slugs and snails crawling around the walls and floor. Entire room only had one socket. No complimentary bottled water, no kettle in the room, but hair dryer was available upon request. Manager seemed very helpful and friendly, but during our stay one staff first didn't believe that we had complimentary breakfast (already paid for online), and then after we checked out and were already halfway down the street came chasing after us claiming we hadn't paid for the room (and only let us go after we showed him the booking confirmation). Overall, room is basically sufficient but definitely not for the fussy traveller. Would probably not stay here again.

Ella Grand Peak hotel has helpful staff that responds quickly. Room are just what you need for a quick rest and ready to go in the morning onto your day plan after a decent breakfast. They even accommodate our group when our scheduling plans were messed up by unexpected circumstances. It does lose one point due to the owner after asking us for a review, a simple endeavor after his great hosting and help, proceeds to emotionally blackmail us, by reminding us that lending us a room for keeping our bags while we finish our travel tour and come back to get said bags so we can head to the airport, it had cost him money. Thus, great and quick service, with an owner making all those feelings of gratitude falling down a mountain side to crash and wither in pain. 4/5 Likely won't come here again, because I'm sure they will not be as welcoming next time. P.S. We we're just told the hotel closes by 9:30 PM, seemingly implying that we better leave soon.

Our stay in the Grand Peak Hotel was overshadowed by poor service. First of all they said we can´t park our car till the manager arrives, because we should park behind him - we had to wait several hours for that, parking our car at the side of a small street. Second was that we booked four rooms (2 double and 2 single). The two double rooms cost exactly the same, but there of totally different room standard. One of the rooms, was nice and clean, with big windows and a remade bathroom, the other one was smaller, had tiny windows and a very old bathroom (like typical for most cheap accomodations in Sri Lanka). What is annoying me is that another room exactly the same like the nice double room I described (and had booked) was still free for that night. So we asked to move to the other nice room. Especially because we has realized by a second look that the bed sheets in the smaller double room were dirty and some of the cushions had mould stains. The Hotel Management said that we can switch rooms, but only if we pay 1000 Rupies more, although it was exactly the same room like the other one we had booked for 11 Dollars. The paid the money in the end. To be honest I´m not complaining about the 1000 Rupies, but I can´t understand how the booking of two double bedrooms (same standard) can end in such an difference of the rooms, especially if a comparable one is still free. Third: all bed sheets, pillows and towels were clammy and wet. Over all the condition of the rooms were like what you would expect in an low budget Hotel in Asia. So not nice but not horrible. With a bit more service and some friendlier staff, this hotel good become an average Backpacker stay, but still nothing I would recommand to others. There are plenty of nice little Hotels which putting their heart into there own places to make them special, nice and neat.

ROOM IS NOT AS SHOWN IN PICTURES ONLINE We booked online. Met some people on the train who came with us. He offered them a better room at half the price. DONT BOOK ONLINE. Also don’t mess with this guy. He’s bonkers. We complained so he stuck us in what can only be described as an extension of a toilet. It looks online like he has very nice rooms but we didn’t see them. He then ignored us for the whole visit. At one point, as if reenacting a scene from Monty Python, he slowly repositioned his body to completely ignore that we were trying to get his attention. He’s a character. Good luck.
