What a wonderful location with views to die for, overlooking tropical gardens to the Caribbean below. The sky and sea were different every day of the 4 weeks we stayed at Maria's beautiful home. Terrific sunsets & rainbows. Surrounded by the rainforest behind and a lush garden around us full of exotic fruit trees and flowers - papaya, lime, lemon, orange, grapefruit, mandarin, golden apple, papaya, mango, banana, coconut, soursop, orchids, bougainvillea of glorious colours, to name but a few! We also saw many wonderful birds whilst on the veranda and patios - lesser antillean tanager, antillean crested hummingbird, osprey, mockingbird, wren, bananaquit (local black morph), lesser antillean bullfinch, osprey, kestrel, broad-winged hawk, magnificent frigate bird, grey pelican and brown booby way down over the sea below, grassquit, ground dove, eared dove, spectacled thrush, yellow bellied eleania, flycatchers, kingbird, smooth-billed ani, yellow bellied seedeater.........
Maria's home is full of her beautiful glass artwork such that we always knew we were in a unique location aside from everything around us outside. And as for Maria’s famous rum punch – be careful!
We hired a car for the full time and found our location perfect for popping into St George's for shopping and the Grand Anse beach, and for trips around the island with roads that wound through the rainforests and plantations. Grenada provides an ideal blend of sun, sea & scenery which was enhanced by the charm and friendliness of the people we met. All in all a great four weeks!
