Fall asleep to the sound of the surf in Lisa's 2-bedroom, 2-bath penthouse condo. Beautifully furnished, this unit sleeps 4 with 2 queen beds. And with nearly 1,000 square feet of terrace, you have the perfect setting for outdoor living and entertaining! Nestled in the quaint fishing village of Fortuna on Luquillo Beach (the pride of Puerto Rico!) you'll see sandy beaches for miles and miles in either direction with warm water for year-around enjoyment. With an average year-round temperature of 82° F, it's always a good time to head to the beach!

Local paradise in Luquillo

By Hillary Sisson (Charleston SC) My husband, children, and I just returned from an amazing week at the condo. We cannot say enough about this place and the many great opportunities staying here provides. First of all, the condo is beautiful and welcoming. The rooftop balcony truly makes this property shine. With views of El Yunque on one side and the sparkling ocean on the other, this balcony provides the best of both worlds. Staying here truly immerses you into the Puerto Rican culture as you are right in the middle of village (neighborhood) that blossoms with life. There are cats, chickens, roosters, and dogs roaming around as well as the wonderfully welcoming neighbors. One night they even projected a boxing match on the building that brought the neighborhood out. The private beach in front of the condo is pure heaven. We visited other beaches, but much preferred the solitude and beauty of the private beach. The location is terrific with many nearby activities. El Yunque is 3 miles away, Fajardo (where you can kayak biobay, take a snorkeling trip, or catch the ferry to Viques and Culebra) is 20 minutes away. Additionally, you can take the beach to kiosks for dinner and drinks. When the tide is high, it makes for quite an adventure. This condo is very secure with a gated fence around the whole property. If anything, this was the only drawback as you had to have keys with you to get out. Elizabeth provides an experience that you will not likely forget. If you plan on staying in Luquillo, this is the place to be!

Truly a condo in paradise!

This was our third trip in 3 years to this beautiful island. We love the beauty of the island, but also the people. This condo is situated in a local village, far removed from the glitz and glamour of some hotels and that's what we loved about it! Of course, the owner of this condo was top-notch in every way. She was always quick to respond via email or by phone, was very organized and genuinely wanted us to have the most wonderful vacation. Everything we could possibly need was available to us. The condo itself was comfortable for our family of four and we all enjoyed the jewel of this condo, the rooftop terrace. Even though we couldn't enjoy the beach right out front due to high tides, we didn't mind because the terrace provided us with the most amazing views! Relaxing in the hammock, listening to the ocean crash below and seeing the rainforest all at the same time was just incredible! We enjoyed many activities close by, however, I sometimes never wanted to leave the terrace! It was just so relaxing. Thank you, Lisa, for being so accommodating! We look forward to our next visit to Puerto Rico and hopefully your Condo in Paradise!

Puerto Rican Paradise

Our family spent a week in the Luquillo area of Puerto Rico at the Bello Mar apartment complex in the 'Condo in Paradise' - and it lived up to its billing! The condo was so comfortable. The living room, which overlooked the ocean,had enough seating for a large group of people and with the windows open we could hear the waves as they landed on the beachfront below. The kitchen had everything one would need for an extended stay. We cooked several times and also went to the large complex of what are knows as kioskos which were only a couple of miles away and had 50-60 different open-air restaurants, a very different, but pleasant, experience. One of the best things about the condo was the private rooftop terrace which went the entire length of the condo from front to back. From the front we had a magnificent view of the ocean and from the back we could see rain falling on the mountain called El Yunque, a tropical rainforest. The remainder of the condo also had nice appointments - comfortable queen-sized beds, one with a private bathroom and a TV. And there were a good number of soft, fluffy towels available. If you are looking for a nice condo in Luquillo, PR, this might be the place for you.

Simply the best...

I'm originally from PR and purposely wanted to stay away from the San Juan metro area with my teenage kids. Elizabeth's condo and attention exceeded our expectations, yet within a reasonable distance from my mother's house in San Juan. The roof top terrace was our favorite spot: me in the mornings helping the sun come up, the kids in the evening playing dominoes and chatting. The condo has all the amenities one would need, including some extras you normally don't get in other vacation rentals such as beach chairs, beach umbrella, beach toys, mini surf boards. The location is perfect, in close proximity (about a 15-minute leisure beach walk) from the Luquillo public beach and it's typical food kiosks where we dined almost nightly. Luquillo is also close (about a 25-minute drive) to Old San Juan attractions and activities, not to mention the even closer attractions such as El Yunque and Fajardo where we enjoyed snorkeling. Overall, a wonderful experience which we hope to repeat annually. Elizabeth was always prompt responding to emails regarding the condo and nearby attractions, we will definitely seek to stay there again next year.

Felt right at home in this beautifical condo.

Spacious 2 bedroom, 2 bath, full kitchen, with a private terrace right on the beach. I was very satisfied that I booked this condo.

Great Local Location - Depending On What You Need Or Want In A Waterfront Stay

Overall this was a nice experience for us, but there are some things that you should clarify depending on your expectations. We had selected this location over others in the area based on some assumptions we made. Make sure you clarify your assumptions if you are trying to choose between multiple places. Our assumptions were: - This location being outside of Luquillo would be a convenient and place to stay. - We could just walk onto the beach directly from the complex - I could hang in the hammock at the apartment while the others laid on the sand General Location: The apartment complex is directly on the water, not the beach. The neighborhood is very friendly as described and we had nice interaction with people. Depending on how familiar you are with Puerto Rico / Fortuna / Luquillo area, I'd recommend arriving during daylight. The streets are safe and typical but that means narrow and not glowing with streetlights. Once you've made the trip once it is not a problem and very simple to find your way. Apartment: - The apartment is as advertised and the top floor is definitely the way to go in this complex. The private patio on the roof is absolutely what makes the place. There is plenty of furniture with cushions. You could easily entertain 50 people and have enough open area and bar space to have a nice reception. (That is only to give you a sense of the size). - The unit was well equipped and maintained. Having your own washer and dryer were a huge bonus as well as the beach supplies. - Note that this is a 3rd floor unit which means 3 flights of stairs. If you have kids, elders, or someone that has trouble with steps, then you will want to double check on this. Even the private patio on your rooftop requires stairs to be climbed. It is just something to consider depending on your vacation getaway needs. Things I was surprised by with regards to the apartment itself: - Although on the water, there is no direct beach access. The access way is closed for repairs. I got the impression and made my own assumption that there was direct beach access. I was wrong. Even if you could get there, the water is mostly all the way up against the property wall, so there isn't a beach directly against the property. - The "gated" entrance way was always open. If you feel strongly about a gate being closed across the driveway and controlling access then you will want to double check on this. - The hammock hanging in the picture cannot be hung as the mounting point in the wall is broken. - Grilling has to be done on an electric grill (it is included and provided). The gas grill was not to be used (per instructions on the grill cover). Makes you think twice about grilling in the rain or shortly afterwards with all of the water remaining on the tile floor. - Beaches are accessible by a very short walk down the street to the basketball court. This provides you the closest walking beach access and puts you right on the ocean. Walking to the end of the street and then down a path way takes you to one of the most amazing places. This beach is both on the Rio Grande river and on the ocean. You can play in clear fresh water direct from the rain forest and you can hang out in the ocean surf. If you step back and consider the picturesque view, it is quite amazing. Holiday Visitation (July 4th Note): - We thought that July 4th was not celebrated widely in PR. While this may or may not be true, what is a fact is that July 4th is a holiday. This area (including Luquillo) are some of the closest beaches to San Juan. The holiday lasted for 3 days this year due to the weekend and the music from Luquillo (about a mile away) was heard inside of the apartment for 72 hours, windows closed, A/C on, day and night. A DJ was setup in town similar to an outdoor concert. Point is if you go here around a holiday, you will not be directly impacted by crowds etc. but the music celebration will be "enjoyed" by you whether you like it or not. None if this is within the control of Elizabeth so this is a general comment about the timing of your own trip.

AMAZING VIEWS!

I cant say enough about how great our time was staying at, A Condo in Paradise! This was our family's (Husband, myself, and 3 preteen to teen daughters) first trip to Puerto Rico. We picked the perfect place to stay! The location is great, not to fair from San Juan. Close to Fajardo, where you can take the ferry to the islands. mins away from El Yunque National Forest. Luquillo is a great town to stay in! The condo was amazing! the huge windows in the living room that you can open all the way up to hear the amazing sound of the ocean. The roof top was by far our favorite spot! I was completely at peace listening and watching the waves come in. Also the view of the El Yunque was great! I could of stayed forever! Elizabeth provided everything we needed and more. Her complete instructions on how to get into the condo were very easy and simple to follow. She was completely hands off but left her phone number and many other numbers in case we needed anything. That is just how we like it! Everything you need is provided in the condo from a blender to cooler, washer and dyer, beach towels,goggles, ect. and 2 boogie boards. Also we had to buy a wake board and water shoes,goggles to try out at the beach. Of course we couldn't take them home so now future renters can enjoy! :) Free wifi is provided, also cable. The price was great for being steps from the beach. Little one room hotels are more expensive. Why in the world would anyone want to stay in a tiny room in a crowed hotel when you can have you very own place! The pictures on the listing don't do it justice! Thank you for a wonderful place! We for sure will be back! Hopefully sooner then later! :)

Bad!

the property owner advised us 1.5 hrs prior to check in time that the property was not available so we had to scramble to find another place after driving 2.5 hours to get to the property.
