Top quality!
The house is spotlessly clean, and has everything you could want. Beds and bedlinen are top quality, lots of fluffy towels supplied. The kitchen is particularly well-equipped. You have your own private garden with furniture for a sunny evening, and you are welcome to walk around the bigger garden. There were no children in our party, but there are lots of outdoor and indoor activities for them. Nuala is a great host, nearby but never intrusive. Beautiful Doughmore beach is 5 minutes walk away. There are two good restaurants, a takeaway, and a small shop in Doonbeg. Should you do want a day out, drive to Doolin and get the boat to the Aran Islands, or go dolphin-watching on the Shannon estuary. If you are interested in history or archeology, go inland to Kilfenora or Dyseart O'Dea.
We have already booked a return visit!

Wunderschönes Haus, tolle Gastgeberin
Mit unserem Sohn und seiner Freundin verbrachten mein Mann und ich eine traumhaft schöne Zeit im Sandhills House, das an einem sehr ruhigen Ort nahe am Strand liegt. Es ist sehr sauber, geräumig und ist wirklich hervorragend ausgerüstet mit allem, was man in einem Urlaub braucht. Der Garten ist ein Kunstwerk und wir konnten uns beim Gemüse, den Kräutern und den Eiern einfach bedienen. Nuala ist eine fantastische Gastgeberin und hat immer sichergestellt, das uns nichts fehlt. Als mein Sohn einmal bemerkt hat, dass er gerne Basketball spielen würde, hat sie innerhalb von 30 Minuten nicht nur einen Ball, sondern auch noch einen Platz organisiert, wo er spielen konnte. Wir haben verschiedene Klippen besucht, die alle innerhalb von 40 Minuten erreichbar sind, die Cliffs of Moher, Cliffs of Kilkee und den Loop Head Leuchtturm.

What an amazing house & host
I am so lucky to have found Sandhills House. The house was absolutely spotless, comfortable and beautifully decorated, inside and out. Attention to detail in every aspect was superb. Everything from a needle to an anchor was carefully thought of, nothing was forgotten.
Nuala was an amazing host, her warm welcome and gentle manner with me and my family was astounding.
I would highly recommend staying at Sandhills House, and look forward to holidaying there again in the very near future.

Amazing Family Holiday
We had a fabulous one week stay at Sandhills House in July. Nuala was so welcoming and had a very thoughtful basket of goodies waiting for us on arrival with brown bread, scones, local jam and 3 cookies for my 3 boys!! The house is spotless, very comfortable and has everything you could possibly need to enjoy your stay. My boys spent lots of time outdoors in the beautiful gardens around the house and loved collecting the eggs from Nuala's three hens. We also enjoyed tomatoes and salad vegetables from her garden.
Sandhills House is a short walk from a beautiful beach and we went there every day. We met Nuala on the beach walking her dog and she taught my boys about the shells and other treasures found on the beach and beachcombing became the favourite activity of the week.
The house is in an excellent location near great beaches, lovely restaurants and picturesque towns on the Wild Atlantic Way. We visited the Burren, Ailwee Caves, Cliffs of Moher, Loop Head Lighthouse, Vandaleur Gardens in Kilrush and Bunratty Folk Park during our stay. There was also a great selection of board games and books available in the house to keep us all entertained and an outdoor room with toys for the children.
Overall we had a relaxing and memorable holiday. Nuala has thought of everything to ensure her guests have a wonderful holiday. We can't wait to return to Sandhills House again soon.

Brilliant Family relaxing stay
Hey,
We stayed at Sandhills for the second week of June 22, the house was immaculate when we arrived, Nuala was a great host and made sure we have the right directions to get to the house.
The location is superb, we have a young family, so being so close to the beach was ideal and the garden was a great space for downtime with the kids in the evening.
The bedrooms we perfect with ensuites in both rooms and the kitchen was fully stocked with all the utensils you needed to make it a comfortable stay.
Nuala has tea cakes, scones and eggs for us on arrival.
Would definitely return.

Outstanding place to stay.
I could not rate Sandhills any better. It was perfect. Literally everything you could possibly need in the home. Nuala was so accommodating, kind and just a perfect host. The house is beautiful, clean and so close to the beach. We loved staying there. Already planning the next trip.

Highly recommended. Ideal for families everything you can think of and even more, you only need your clothes everything else is provided. Great location in Clare by the sea nice walk within 5min. Very clean and organised space. We will definitely come back ! Take care.

Outstanding Stay
We were lucky enough to spend a wonderful week at Sandhills House this September. The location is second to none for anyone looking for a peaceful break away - minutes walk from two beautiful beaches, including the stunning Doughmore beach.
Nuala is the perfect host - available but unobtrusive and with faultless attention to detail. The house is stunning with every possible need or want accommodated, from toys for the little ones to books and dvds if you decide on a duvet day. We can’t wait to return!

Wie schön kann ein Urlaub eigentlich sein?
Wir waren hier im August/2021 mit 3 Kids (3/9/15)
Im allgemeinen gefällt uns Irland und insbesondere die irländische Westküste sehr gut. Dieses Ferienhaus unterstreicht alles was wir an Irland lieben. Es ist gemütlich und liebevoll. Der Garten ist wunderbar gestaltet und beheimatet vielfältige Gewächse und Insekten. Die Kinder finden an jeder Ecke etwas Neues und können nicht verloren gehen, da das Grundstück (bis auf die Hofeinfahrt) komplett mit Hecken eingefasst ist. Die Kinder lieben die Hunde und die Hühner und das Naschen im Gewächshaus.
Das Ferienhaus selber ist sehr sehr sauber und gut ausgestattet. Vor allem die Küche lässt nichts missen. Jedes Schlafzimmer hat ein eigenes Badezimmer/WC. Sehr entspannt mit mehreren Kindern. Nuala lebt mit Familie im Gebäude nebenan und sonst sind im näheren Umkreis nur Kühe. Ein paar Feen haben wir noch gesehen aber diese sind im allgemeinen nicht aufdringlich.
Nuala nimmt sich viel Zeit alles zu erklären und gibt viele Tipps für die Freizeitgestaltung. Sie hat uns auch gerettet um einige Arztbesuche zu organisieren.
In ca. 10 Minuten zu Fuß ist man an einem herrlichen Sandstrand. Der Zugang ist privat und somit ist nie wirklich viel los. Einige Leute kommen über das Trump Resort, mit einen weiteren Strandzugang, aber die meisten gehen nicht so weit.
Vielen Dank für diese tolle Zeit. Wir kommen gerne wieder.
