False Advertised Villa
It was my fiancés birthday so we decided to book the Villa “La Gampierre” in Saint Lucia. My lady arrived a day before me because my flight got delayed. Upon her arrival she noticed that there wasn’t any hot water or reliable water pressure in any of the showers in the Villa. She then told Lucy who is the property manager and Lucy told her that there is hot water when the sun is out because of solar panels. This is not in the property description prior to booking and for the amount of money we paid for the Villa is was very inconveniencing. My fiancé tried to contact the owner about this but the owner blocked her from contact further. The property manager Lucy also further inconvenienced us by trying to leave my fiancé stranded without transportation when she wanted to leave because of the inconvenience. The Villa is in a secluded area that you cannot get to unless you get instructions from someone who is already familiar with the area.. it is not accessible by gps. Which is another thing that wasn’t advertised in the property description. The only contact we received from the owner was a distasteful email talking extremely out of line about my fiancé because she was in frustration with her accommodations; in which she had every right to be. After all these inconveniences and disrespect .. we decided to book at a resort and leave the Villa. Our resort only had availability for the next day so we had to stay one more night uncomfortably in the Villa without a choice. This was all very stressful because not only do we feel cheated out of our money but Lucy and the owner also put my fiancés safety at risk. We would like a full refund because it was false advertised in so many ways.. we would have never booked there if we knew there wasn’t hot water.. properly running water.. and proper transportation.

La Gampierre - Saint Lucia
We were 6 adults and enjoyed our time both on the Island and at La Gampierre.
Besides the ample room. The kitchen has everything that you may need to cook if you desire. The hidden gem of this place is the caretakers - Lucy acts as your concierge.
I recommend using the drivers (just call Lucy) while the main road is paved almost everywhere you go off it is not or not in good shape. Besides everything seems up in both directions! The drivers become tour guides and will give you information you will not get from a rental.
The home even has 5 floors! So you will get a workout visiting the island even if you don't use the exercise room!
Lucy's family owns a boat and are happy to take you fishing or snorkeling or both! We actually fished one day and on another they took us to a secluded beach and prepared us BBQ and then took us snorkeling.
In addition, the local beach is very relaxing though not a snorkeling beach.
Grocery/Liquor stores are near by. There are also local restaurants with reasonably priced meals. There are plenty of upscale restaurants within 30 mins of the house.
One tip - bring cash not everyone accepts credit cards. US money was accepted everywhere.

Wonderful Stay in an Amazing Home
Wow! This home is incredible. Ample room to accommodate at least four couples. Incredible pool, workout room, spacious office, and killer views of the sunset over ocean. And a pool table to boot! Five minute drive to the beach, and just 30 minutes to many sought after sites - the Pitons, Sulfur Springs, waterfalls, and more. I absolutely recommend staying here.

What an experience
We stayed at the owners home from Feb 5 to Feb 10 and had an exquisite time. The property manager Lucy was very hospitable and polite. The home was well taken care of and each room has an amazing view overlooking the seas of St.Lucia. Lucy was always attentive to any question either by phone or message. Mark (the owner) did also check in during our stay to make sure we were comfortable. Highly recommend this property if you are looking for relaxation and if you pursue a family getaway. Truly a home away from home and price economically.

Beautiful House Off The Beaten Path
We stayed at La Gampiere in early January 2018 and we enjoyed the stay. We had six adult couples (50’s) for the week and had more than adequate space as we only needed three bedrooms. The house is located in a very private / secluded area with beautiful views of the ocean and one of the pitons in the distance. Lots of steps so you will certainly get your exercise. Because of the location more seasoned travelers that don’t mind a little adventure off the beaten path will really enjoy the house. WiFi in the house worked well on all floors, which is often not the case with rental houses in the Caribbean. Relatively quick ride from the airport and the road into the house is steep and a little bumpy. If you rent a vehicle (drive on left side and steering wheels on right side) you will want something with a little bit of clearance. The house will provide for drivers so if you plan on a few road trips around the island the costs for a driver versus renting are close to the same and provides some convenience so having the driver was nice. Because the house is so secluded, you can’t just walk to the store, so you need to stock up on supplies on the way. Lucy was pleasant very helpful in having things ready and can pick up stuff for you for your arrival for a small fee. You will need to stop along the way at the liquor store if looking for alcohol. Supermarket is along the way as well. Prices are typical of the other Caribbean islands – somewhat pricey. Drives to Soufriere and many of the attractions surrounding that area are approximately 30-45 minutes. 1. 5 hours to Castries. The farther north the busier the roads, and traffic can be tedious if cruise ships are docking. 24-hour security service with friendly local security guards at the house along with the two great dogs. Consider bringing a flashlight or two. We lost power for a short time (3-4 hours during the day) and it returned before dark but if it occurred in the evening we would have stumbled around looking for light sources. The motion detection lights didn’t seem to work or needed the batteries changed.
Some of the minor issues: cleanliness was just ok for a house and cost of this caliber. Two of the bathrooms stalls (pool suite and downstairs BR) were clogged with hair and we had to clean. One of the bathroom rugs in the downstairs bath had some mildew and needed cleaned or tossed. The oven door needs replaced as it does not close properly and cannot be used (the gas grill is fantastic but gets very hot – need to watch closely). The washer did not operate properly so laundry was an issue but it appears it may be changed shortly. The bathroom next to the pool is nice to have but needs a thorough cleaning with some bleach to rid the smell. Finally, there was a minor water leak in the pool room suite. It is better to call Lucy as opposed to texting her as she always answers the phone but not as quick of a turnaround on texting (WhatsApp). Overall, she was fantastic to work with and was very helpful in setting up any dive excursions (Action Adventures Diving in Soufreire is great) or day trips.
The island is beautiful and the people are friendly – worth the visit.

Best Villa in the Caribbean
We have rented VRBO villas all over the Caribbean. The La Gampierre has truly been one of the best. Not only is it a splendid five-level villa, it is truly a home away from home. All kitchen items, towels, and anything you could need was provided. The beds were all pillowtop mattresses that were as comfortable as in a high-end hotel. The splendid view from halfway up the mountain allowed us to look southward and see the ocean and sunsets. The Infinity pool was perfect with four seats and a shallow area to sit/sunbathe in the water itself. The whole house and grounds were immaculate, as were the gardens of hibiscus and bougainvillea. We rented for 15 days, the first week we had 7 family members and friends; the second week we had 8 family members and friends (adult children stayed different weeks). We were quite comfortable and never crowded. The home is decorated with lovely island artwork in all rooms, setting up a wonderful theme throughout. When booking, Mark Gamper was very helpful in answering all questions and making arrangements. We rented a van so that we could travel to various places on the island. We chartered a sailing on the Majesty with snorkeling and lunch; went scuba diving with Chester at Action Adventure Divers; drove to Laborie Beach, Soufierre and Sugar Beach; went ziplining in Dennery; rode horses and ATVs nearby; and enjoyed evening dinners at local restaurants and cafes. In fact, one of our sons became engaged at a private dinner beach cabana at Coconut Bay Beach Resort. Gibbs and Lucy who look after the pool and house are quite helpful on whom to contact for which activities on the island. It should be noted that we had a minor electrical problem and it was attended to right away. These kinds of problems can be rather common in the Caribbean; the important thing is that the solution was attended to quickly. Two friendly dogs, Goldie and Gumbo, greeted us each time we returned to the villa, although they do not come inside. Overall, we highly recommend this villa for rental and have in fact recommended it to friends we know already. It would be great for families, couples, wedding parties, reunions, romantic getaways and friends’ vacations. Thank you for sharing your home with us.

Wonderful villa fully equipped
We were 10 persons staying at La Gampierre for a week. We had plenty room to be very comfortable. The villa is fully equipped. Lucy and Gibbs, the managers, helped us with excursions reservations and were very welcoming and helpful. They provided us a local cell phone which was very useful to call taxi or book tours.
If you rent a car, make sure its a 4 x 4, the roads are bad. You can use taxi services, which we did. Just ask fot the prices when you call. We went to Soufriere (1hour) and to Castries-gros islet(1,5 hour). Make sure to go there friday night, it's a must for the street party!
We felt secure with the guardians, nice guys.
The only negative point is that it's almost impossible to go to the village or the beach by foot, unless you are an athlete. It took us 40 minutes to go to the village and when we came back, we were exhausted... The road is so steep!
Overall, we loved our experience and definitely would come back!
