Stunning Villa, Amazing views, Private & Peaceful
A stunning Villa with amazing views down to the coast.
The location is 10 minute drive from Torrox town and 20 minutes from Torrox costa with lots of beaches and beach bars.
Ken & Esther are excellent hosts and the Villa was immaculate when we arrived.
It has been well thought out with lots of space inside and everything you need for a relaxing Holiday.
The pool area is totally secluded and benefits from the amazing views and the Villa is surrounded by Avocado & Mango trees.
A car is essential if you want to explore the lovely towns of Nerja, Torrox & Frigiliana,
We highly recommend La Mexicana if you want total peace & privacy but with beaches, bars & shops a short drive away.

Perfect tranquil haven
This was our second stay at the Villa Mexicana and we have booked again for next year! This place is a wonderful tranquil haven in the mountains overlooking Torrox. The pool area and terrace are not overlooked at all and perfectly placed for all day sun. The pool itself is large enough to cool off and swim in or bob about on a lilo if you prefer. The barbecue and outdoor seating provide a wonderful place for family meals and playing games whilst the lounge is cosy to enjoy a late night film. The children are happy here with the wifi and loved the addition of the rooftop terrace as a place to escape from their parents. There is plenty to do in the surrounding areas. We did the Rio Chillar river walk the first year - definitely wear some old trainers as its very stony underfoot. This year we did the hanging bridges trail in Monachil which we equally enjoyed as well as kayaking at Burriana beach in Nerja. The supermarkets in Supersol and Lild in Nerja have plenty of choice and lots of lovely cafés, bars and restaurants in Torrox square and along the coast. We cant wait to get back here

Great villa in a great location. Quiet, remote & private with lots of parking. Good facilities and a walled in pool area so no need to worry about little ones wandering off.
Overall, it is excellent accommodation managed by very helpful and nice people.
I highly recommend it but hope I can still get my weeks when I want to go back!!!

Beautiful homely villa in the hills with amazing surroundings & views of the coast
The villa La Mexicana is in a lovely location up a windy hill road outside of Torrox. It is tastefully decorated with a local flare, very clean and well-equipped with everything that you need for an enjoyable self-catering holiday. Supermarkets are in Torrox Pueblo about 10 mins drive away so very easy to shop locally if you don't want to eat out. The views from the villa across the hills and down to the tourist beach resort of Costa Torrox were amazing with nobody else nearby or overlooking the villa. The pool was very refreshing throughout the day, in full sunshine until the sun set behind the nearby hill at about 9pm, routinely cleaned and well-maintained. A beautiful location for a tranquil holiday but also ideal for visiting pretty hillside mountain towns/villages, nearby beach resorts or the larger cities of Malaga, Cadiz or Granada. A Highly recommended venue with friendly hosts who make you feel very welcome in their home and who provide good information about access and the locality. We'll definitely visit again!

First review I've written. This villa has everything that you want for a self-catering holiday. Ken and Esther are the most loveliest people you will ever meet. If in any doubt about renting from them, please don't hesitate. My husband, my son (aged 11) and I had a wonderful time. The villa is in a quiet spot overlooking the hills and a view to the Med. Very easy driving distance to anywhere on the Costa del Sol.
Will recommend this villa to anyone who asks. Thankyou Ken and Esther. You have a lovely villa with wonderful views.

AMAZING Place - Loved it!
This villa was the perfect place for visiting the Costa del Sol. It was the best of both worlds - in the hills with sea views, very quiet and peaceful and private but close to shopping, restaurants, beaches and many sites and near by towns. This place has all you need for a perfect holiday - a wonderful pool, plenty of indoor space with a spacious kitchen, living room, indoor and outdoor dining areas and lovely outdoor lounging areas and breathtaking views! We are a family of four with two older teenagers and we all enjoyed ourselves there so much - it was very hard to leave! The owners are wonderful hosts and so very accommodating and helpful with many recommendations on things to do and see. It was a perfect base for us to explore the area. We did several day trips from the villa which were all an easy drive since the main motorway is minutes away down the hill. The immediate surrounding area is so lovely - small white washed villages with a very laid back charm but again very close to bigger towns with a lively nightlife. We cannot recommend this place enough and we cannot wait to return!

Villa was exelent .we enjoyed where it was located as we wanted total quiet and privacy,also the owners were very helpfull and even visited us in hospital.no second thoughts about returning for another holiday.

Amazing Retreat
Firstly we would like to thank Ken for the concise information regarding the location, facilities, amenities and pointers for the surrounding area.
The villa, its location and the many beautiful beaches were much more than we expected. The location of the villa is amazing, its hilltop location is stunning, the interior and exterior beautifully kept with all that a couple or a family could wish for, we highly recommend this villa.
The town of Nerja is beautiful with lovely beaches and traditional Spanish lanes to explore. The surrounding white washed villages are equally stunning and well worth a visit. Ken and Esther kept us up to date with local events for us to check out too.
If you are looking for a luxurious villa with a homely feel then this is certainly the one to book. Perfect!

A Perfect & Beautiful Villa!
We are a family of 4 including 2 teenage boys and we never holiday in the same place twice. . . Until we discovered La Mexicana!
This villa is perfectly situated on a mountain side in Torrox with the most beautiful and peaceful landscape views. The location is also excellent for traveling to Torrox Costa, Nerja, Competa, Frigiliana, Malaga, Granada, the Nature Parks and many other traditional Spanish towns and attractions.
La Mexicana is an ideal base for an active holiday, or one of total relaxation.
The only concern we have about this villa, is it being fully booked for next year :-)

Dating from moorish times Torrox pueblo has small winding streets and friendly atmosphere. It is a village full of atmosphere with attractive plazas, cafes, small shops and small tapas bars. Just ten minutes away at the coast is the modern beach resort of Torrox Costa and the old town of Nerja. Here there are many supermarkets restaurants, tourist amenities and sandy beaches. It is this combination of old and new which makes a stay in the Torrox countryside so interesting, offering at the same time a quiet villa holiday in the Spanish 'campo' with the added convenience of having some very lovely Mediterranean beaches and plenty of night life etc close by. The near perfect climate here at Torrox and the frequent local fiestas make this a year round destination and so whatever time you choose to come you will always find Torrox a friendly and colorful place to stay.
Activities and sightseeing.
During your stay you may be tempted to go diving, horseriding, sailing, hiking, wine tasting or even skiing in winter at Granada (45 mins). There is plenty of nightlife too with bars,discos and restaurants open a, Nerja and Torre del Mar on the coast. For sightseeing there are world famous caves at Nerja and the world heritage site of the Alhambra at Granada. Other possibilities are days trips to Cordoba, Seville, Gibraltar, Ronda and even Morocco.
