Absolutely discussed, travelled 10hrs to find out the host had cancelled the booking and supposedly refunded our money, agreeing we would re-book at an extra cost once we received our money we were allowed to stay. The next day, still not receiving our money to be able to pay again we were told to leave. Stella has absolutely ruined our holiday!

Great place to stop, will go again. Found the cottage on the web and luckily there was 5 night availability. Only minor thing, could do with a couple more pans. Lovely garden & you can BBQ if sensible without damaging the grass. Easy to get out and about from Aberlour.

Die Wohnlage ist hier einwandfrei! Die Spey ist direkt vor der Haustür sowie auch Einkaufsmöglichkeiten und ein Lokal was zum Essen und trinken einladet. Dort kann man wirklich gut essen für nicht überteuertes Geld. Das ist alles wirklich super, aber erkennt man auch an der Lage wenn man sich informiert. Nun zum Haus was für 5 Personen ausgestattet sein soll! Wenn man ein Haus/Wohnung übergibt, gehe ich davon aus das alles vorher kontrolliert wird und auch auf Funktionstüchtigkeit überprüft wurde. - TV (freuten wir uns da es schön groß war) defekt, man brachte uns ein winzlig! mit merkwürdiger Begründung. Kabel usw. waren nicht angeschlossen, somit gehe ich davon aus das dies bekannt war und man nicht ein neues kaufen will. - Spülmaschine ein Rad fehlte somit ließ sich der Korb erschwert rauszieren. Die Maschine stand auch sehr im Raum rein! - Schublade er Küche defekt! - Rollos normale sehr lichtdurchlässig! Von 23h bis ca. 4h dunkel somit wurde man früh wach, dies wurde schon von vielen Mietern bemängelt. Ich empfehle Alufolie war dann wesentlich besser. - Bad für 5 Person ...... viel zu klein! In Badewanne Dusche mit sehr wenig Druck! - Schränke für 5 Personen viel zu klein! Wir hatten geplant mit 3 Personen wäre dann gut gewesen! - Möbel! Das hat hier nichts mehr mit Standard usw. zu tun. Die sind einfach nur durchgesessen grausam Couch sowie Sessel, gut das dies bei Stühlen nicht möglich ist. - Wärme! Die Heizung war merkwürdig programmiert! Immer am Nachmittag ging die an selbst wenn die Sonne die Wärme rein brachte. Am Abend war es so kalt das wir es vorzogen in eine Bar zu gehen, hinzu kommt das die Wohnung auch sehr kühl und nicht einladend aussah. Wo wir am ersten Tag ankamen, hat dort die Vermieterin Rasen geschnitten. Jeder dort hat es geschafft dies vorher zu erledigen. Somit trugen wir den Rasen schön ins Haus! Sie kam auf uns zu und fragte ob es stören würde (was soll man da als Antwort geben). Aber Sie stellte sich nicht vor und fragte auch nicht ob die Anreise gut war. Schließlich brauchten wir von D nach Abalour ü22 Std. Also fing es schon sehr gut an. Sie fragte auch nicht ob in der Wohnung alles ok war gar nichts. Wir haben im net geschaut und erst dann gewusst, wer Sie war :)) Später hat mein Mann sie vorm Haus getroffen auch da kein Wort, wobei mein Mann Sie begrüßt hat. Ich wusste im Vorfeld das Sie deutsche ist und schrieb somit auch auf deutsch Antwort kam auf englisch. Für so viel Geld erwartet man etwas ganz anderes. Ich bin stink sauer und ärgere mich jetzt immer noch! Dies hat auch nichts mit Standard von Schottland usw. zu tun. Ich könnte noch weiter schreiben, aber regt mich einfach nur noch auf so etwas! Ich wollte erst gar nichts schreiben, aber für so viel Geld sollte man wissen, was einem erwartet. Für mich ist die Wohnung sehr wichtig da interessiert mich zweitrangig die Lage usw. Ich hoffe jetzt, das ich hier nicht lesen muss: Es tut mir Leid ................ ! Dafür es es viel zu spät! Wir würden hier nie mals mehr buchen und ich würde das Haus auch nie mals jemanden empfehlen! Keine Wartung vom Haus, sehr Lieblos eingerichtet! Wirklich traurig sowas! Bis jetzt die schlechteste Wohnung die wir hatten und dies waren einige, da wir nur mit Auto im Urlaub fahren.

They cancelled with less than 24 hours’ notice. No reason at all given, despite booking.com requesting a reason. We booked 4 months in advance. Absolutely appalling ‘service’ - avoid at all costs.

fantastic weeks stay at the Bolthole in Aberlour, booking was easy with Stella keeping us informed throughout the booking We arrived at the cottage after a long days drive and was able to park outside the gate which made unloading easy, the cottage was well equipped with all you need for a weeks stay it was in a ideal location for the Speyside Trail and also the Malt Whisky Trail the cottage is located on the high street in Aberlour which meant that parking was difficult on a few occasions but there is a car park a few minutes walk will definitely stay again

As stated in previous reviews, this duplex is set in a perfect location for exploring Speyside. We agree with all of the positive things said about the Bolthole. Having the whisky bar and restaurant a few minutes away was a bonus. BUT there are some limitations to be aware of. Having to park on the street, which is the main highway, was not what we expected. We managed to get parking close to our gate most days, can't imaging what it would be like in high season. The living room furniture is old and uncomfortable. Even though we don't watch that much TV, the TV was too small to view from across the room, the remote didn't work anyway. There were no instructions about the house and it's appliances as most rentals have. The freezer being upstairs was just weird. Worst of all was no blackout curtains on the bedroom windows. With the sun coming up at 5am and setting after 11pm, it made it difficult sleep past 5.

The Bolthole is very comfortable once inside. Getting there was difficult for these two seniors! Parking on the High Street and dragging luggage through the gate and down through a muddy trail to the front door was impossible. Driving down the back lane is difficult too with no parking. This meant pulling our cases through deep gravel in the lane. A helpful neighbor assisted me. There were no instuctions about the house once inside as most rentals have. We loved the supplies such as shampoo, coffee filters and condiments! We had to leave one day earlier than originally planned and while I informed the owner of this months in advance, the full price was still taken from my credit card. This was very disappointing.

We booked Aberlour Bolthole as part of our annual golf & whisky week and it couldn't have been better. Aberlour is a great base for this; coop, filling station, distillery and mash tun restaurant are around the corner, and the cottage has got everything you could look for. Wifi is fast, parking is never a problem. Would totally recommend it!

Pleasant cottage in a convenient location in the town. Everything there that we needed, including a welcoming bottle of wine, biscuits and essential provisions. Will book it for next year (if they'll have me!).
