We stayed in the Old Pub Cottage for 5 nights and everything was perfect. Eileen and Robert are just the kindest, most warm hearted people you will ever meet. When we arrived, they greeted us with hot tea and already had a fire going in the stove in the living room. Then we got a tour of the lovely cottage and recommendations for things to do and places to visit in abundance. They even left us a little welcoming present with a handwritten note. On our last evening, they came over again to give us heartfelt goodbye, since they couldn't be there the next morning when we were leaving.
The cottage was, of course, also perfect. It really feels more like a home than a rental cottage and so we did feel right at home. We slept really well and had a fire going every evening. Eileen and Robert also supplied us with way more wood than we could ever have needed for our 5 nights stay. The cottage is also placed well for exploring the Beara peninsula, while not being to far away from Kenmare, the nearest bigger town with big supermarkets.
We will definitely stay here again if we return to Beara one day.
