These elegantly refurbished stables have been designed to maximise on the far-reaching views and to provide comfortable and chic accommodation for 2+. The Stables has its own private drive, a secluded garden and a swimming pool shared with the owners. It is located in an area of outstanding natural beauty and is within the South Downs National Park which makes this a perfect place for a quiet holiday, is well located yet there is plenty to do locally.

Amazing place
One of the best self catering places we have ever stayed. Every comfort has been thought of by Vanessa, the host, who is so welcoming. Luxurious, with fabulous views. Also ideal for disabled people as all on one level, with a very spacious wet room bathroom fitted to a high standard.
The cupboards are well stocked with spices, sauces, sugar, tea and coffee etc. There are binoculars, wellies, DVDs, masses of information leaflets and walks - everything you could think of seems to be there.
The picturesque village is just down the road with an artisan butcher and general store which sells lots of yummy goodies as well as basics. Excellent pub there too.
Really feel pampered and spoilt staying here - wonderful. We will be back, thank you Vanessa for everything.

Luxury in a picturesque and peaceful location...
This is our second visit to The Stables and it was just as good as our first visit. The space is amazing and the location is picturesque and peaceful. Vanessa is truly an amazing host and she really does care that everything is perfect. The accommodation is exceptional and the additional touches are thoughtful and the extras included are more than you would receive anywhere else. I highly recommend The Stables, even though I’m reluctant for the secret to get out about what a ‘gem’ it is, as those of us who have been lucky enough to stay here want to keep it to ourselves!!

What a Wonderful Week
From the moment we arrived at the Stables we were welcomed by Vanessa and made to feel at home in this idyllic Hampshire Hideaway!
The Stables is equipped with everything you could possibly need to spend a luxurious break away. The little thoughtful touches around the place make you feel a very special guest and not just another visitor.
We had fantastic weather which allowed us to make use of the pool which was lovely.
The space and the privacy of the garden was also wonderful.
Can’t wait to return!!

Bliss in the Southdowns
This property won a "coolest" award from the Guardian and rightly so. It was fantastic!! - and that's not said lightly. At long last, a UK self catering property that bills itself as "luxury" and actually lives up to the moniker. 'Luxury" is a much abused adjective we've found sadly in our stays. If the devil is in the detail then so must be the delight which hits you from the moment you walk in to be greeted by the loveliest high tea awaiting. The place just smelt gorgeous to start with. The peace and quiet are seriously blissful. From every window - including the fully opening french doors, all you see are fields, trees and green lawns except for the occasional squirrel, pheasant or other wildlife. Vanessa, the host is next door, but you don't have a sense of anyone else being there at all. The kitchen had everything I could imagine needing including some extra helpful basic food items and a Nespresso machine with general amount of pods left. However ... the big ticket sellers - the biggest luxury bathroom we've ever encountered ANYWHERE. Complete with luxy amenities and big beautiful towels. The bed is also extremely comfortable and the bed linens top notch. Every time we turned around there was some really thoughtful little detail to make your stay a bit more relaxing. We kept on saying "wow - somebody thought to include that". There was a yoga mat and hand weights in a cupboard if you please. The bathrobes even fitted perfectly. We did a lot of walks and hikes every day. We didn't use them, but there were at least 4-5 sizes of high quality gum boots just for the purpose. There's a swimming pool available too - but being December we just used our imagination re that. Thank's Vanessa and well done.

Lovely in so many ways!
Vanessa was always super helpful and friendly. Lovely tea and tea table setting to welcome me. The unit is lovely and well-supplied, even with heated bathroom tile floors! A great stove, fridge, and washer/dryer. Good stock of DVDs. Cute, contemporary design. I loved the view of the downs and the sheep in the nearby meadow, plus grouse and other birds I don't see at home.

Just perfect!
We stayed for a week at The Stables and it was very difficult to leave! The accommodation itself is beautifully appointed, and the owner, Vanessa, has thought of everything. The cottage is situated just outside the village of West Meon and has its own grounds, with beautiful views and use of a pool shared with the owners. The location is ideal for visiting Winchester and the New Forest, as well as nearby towns and villages including Chawton, where you can visit Jane Austen's house. Highly recommended for couples visiting the area.

Prepare to feel pampered!
Simply amazing! Vanessa made us feel welcome immediately. The accommodation is truly luxurious, with little touches everywhere that helped make the stay feel special.
We came for a romantic week and this was the perfect place, can't recommend highly enough.

An Oasis of Total Luxury and Relaxation
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this oasis of peace, tranquility, total luxury and relaxation that has so superbly been created at The Stables. We have stayed in many holiday cottages over the last few years, all of which were carefully chosen and beautiful in themselves, we enjoyed them all, but The Stables really is head and shoulders above. The careful attention to detail and very many special touches really add to the overall experience to make guests feel truly welcome. Sumptuous linens, fluffy towels and dressing gowns, luxury toiletries, warmth, numerous candles, privacy, fabulous views, the list really goes on, and all teamed with the extensive facilities available to make this a truly exceptional find. We are tempted to keep this as our little secret but feel Vanessa's hard work really should be shared with others who are lucky enough to book a break here. The village of West Meon is just a short 10 minute walk down the hill, where you can easily pick up quality provisions from the Butchers or the General Stores. A visit to the Thomas Lord is also highly recommended. If you like a walk then Mark has put together a selection of local walks of varying distances so you can enjoy the local scenery and also take in other villages nearby including their pubs and eateries, all those we visited were lovely. For those wanting to venture further afield, Winchester and Petersfield are not too far away and well worth a visit. Keep up the great work Vanessa we really do hope to return again, many many thanks.

Rural retreat
Fantastic cottage in a peaceful location with wonderful vies over the South Downs. The owner ensured that everything was available to enjoy a relaxing stay. The welcome pack of freshly baked brownies, scones and biscuits was delicious and there was also a good selection of staple goods such as coffee, teas and basic cooking supplies. The cottage was beautifully appointed with a luxurious bathroom, massive open plan lounge diner and kitchen and a lovely bedroom with a huge comfy bed. Wifi and printer were provided and washer dryer and dishwasher. There was a huge range of brochures maps and local information on walks and things to do. It was close to a walking trail and there were a number of local pubs within a short distance. All in all a fabulous place with a real wow factor!

Very relaxing and easy
Lovely well kept destination. Always felt welcomed and nothing was too much effort to sort out for us.
Would highly recommend the stables and the area for a relaxing break with fantastic walks
