A super villa for 2 or 4 on a quiet side road on a hill high above Arillas. Wonderful views and super layout. Short driving distance to beaches at Ag Georgios, Arillas and Ag Stefanos. 30 minutes max walk to a large supermarket with good BBQ selection, to a great coffee shop and to two excellent tavernas (Mon Amour on the way to Kavvadades and Night Owl on the way to Afionas). Lovely part of Corfu; and west facing so we could still be on beach at 6.30pm in early October: lovely!!

La casa está ubicada al noreste de la isla, una de las zonas más bonitas de la isla en nuestra opinión. Cerca tiene un supermercado con todo lo que se necesita. Para ir a la playa hay que coger el coche pero está muy cerca. La de Arillas es una auténtica varavilla, sobre todo los extremos donde hay un ambiente muy relajado y buena playa para hacer snorkle. Los atardeceres son de ensueño y es posible hacer nudismo embadurnado de arcilla. Un lugar fantástico. La casa tiene de todo, estaba muy limpia y Ian y Yan nos recibieron estupendamente. Las vistas al mar son increíbles desde la terraza, donde es posible ver el atardecer. Pero el jardín trasero también tiene su encanto! Graham es muy amable y ha estado en todo momento que le hemos necesitado. PD: tuve un problema en el oído y fui al médico de Arillas. Hizo un trabajo estupendo!

We arrived at Villa Gecko after a good journey due to the great directions. We had already stopped off at the local supermarket, which had absolutely everything you could need. Ian and Joy welcomed us and showed us around. We were blown away by the views. The Villa itself is beautiful, so light and clean. We quickly headed off down to Arillas for a quick gyros and ice cold Mythos at Arillas Point which we would highly recommend for lunch or dinner. Very nice staff and food. We walked down to Arillas 5 nights and went to the Night Owl the other 2, which we absolutely loved. We would recommend turning right out of the Villa to walk down, but come back following the sign to the Night Owl, it’s a little further but not so steep. We walked the Arillas trail one morning which was fantastic. We saw tiny frogs emerging from the stream, a bird of prey (think it was a Buzzard) having a drink then taking off over our heads. If you need your holiday Full English fix look no further than the Mathraki pool bar. Extensive choice and better sausages than Tesco finest! We visited all the beaches in the area, Agios Georgios was our favourite, very peaceful with the most beautiful clear sea. We have never returned to any accommodation before, but we will definitely come back to Gecko. Thank you Graham for sharing with us.

Had another lovely holiday staying at Villa Gecko. Booking and payment so easy, great communication from owner Graham & easy access to the property. The villa is amazing, spotlessly clean and very well equipped with lovely gardens front and back. It's in a quiet location not far from the beach, bars and restaurants.Would recommend the beach front 'Gratsela' for meals especially their full english breakfast.

We stayed in this beautiful Villa in the olive groves above Arillas for 12 nights in Spring. The Villa was spotlessly clean, charmingly and tastefully decorated, and extremely well equipped. With gardens front and back, there is always sun to enjoy, and the views both ways are superb! We pillaged the bounty of the garden to make a recipe from the Gino's Italian cookbook in the Villa...freshly picked lemon and rosemary! It takes around an hour by car from the airport - the directions were perfect, thank you! As long as you can cope with hills, you can easily walk down into Arillas, or along to Afionas. We enjoyed a walk out to Porto Timoni, and also over the headland to Agios Stephanos. We didn't get to try many local restaurants, as most weren't yet open for the season, but the pizzeria in Arillas was fab. The little supermarket up the road has wonderful fresh warm bread in the morning. Thank you Graham for a wonderful relaxing stay!

Wir haben uns vom ersten Moment sehr wohl gefühlt. Alle wichtigen Dinge waren vorhanden. Das besondere Highlight ist der tolle Blick von Balkon und Terrasse auf das Meer. Abend gibt es einen wunderschönen Sonnenuntergang. Einziges Manko waren die maroden Balkonstühle und die Kaffeemaschine.

The villa is spotless and beautifully decorated. The air conditioning works like a dream. We always looked forward to coming back in the late afternoon to enjoy the sea breeze and shady garden. The mornings were perfect too, with just the sound of crickets and the occasional cockerel to wake up to. The villa is a just a short drive from Arillas for the evening restaurants. Agios Stefanos is just a little further and worth travelling to if you like quiet, uncrowded beaches with a choice of beach cafes and great surf. We had a perfect holiday here.

We didn’t find the Villa so easy to locate initially, but once we got our bearings, WOW it was a hidden gem. It was so clean and spacious. The air conditioning was a godsend at times, although I spent most of the time in the garden listening to and watching the local birds of prey. The Villa had everything we needed and was a perfect base to explore Corfu. The supermarket and nearest beaches are just a few minutes drive away. I would recommend a hike to Timoni Bay in Afionas. This is well worth a visit and is only a mile away from the Villa .You need to go early to park as there is only road-side parking but please wear walking shoes as it’s a 20-30 min, very rocky walk and at times quite tricky. Once down to the beaches, if you follow the path on you will find a hidden chapel.

Villa Gecko est située dans un cadre remarquable : campagne,champs d'oliviers, avec vue sur mer et petites îles. Le calme n'est dérangé que par le chant des oiseaux. Il fait bon flâner dans le jardin tout autour de la maison au gré des rayons du soleil tournant. L'intérieur est charmant, décoré partout et extrêmement propre. Il ne manque rien. Et que dire de la vue, du coucher de soleil ! Il fait bon se promener aux alentours en voiture comme à pied. Vive la double plage d'Afionas! Le village dispose d'un magasin et boulanger, ce qui est appréciable. Bref, l'idéal pour le repos dans la douceur du mois d'avril. Merci aux propriétaires de partager avec nous leur havre de paix!

November 2017 für einen Aufenthalt im Oktober 2017 Der erste Eindruck von der Villa Gecko ist der atemberaubende Ausblick, den man von beiden vorderen Terrassen über Ölbäume und Säulenzypressen auf die Bucht von Arillas geniesst! Aber auch sonst hat "The Gecko" viel zu bieten, um den Urlaub zu einer gelungenen Zeit zu machen: Geschmackvolle und zweckmässige Einrichtung, vollständige Ausstattung, Betten mit ordentlichen Matratzen… In dem gepflegten Garten hält man sich gern auf, die bequemen Liegestühle laden dazu ein, sich lesend in die Sonne zu legen. Hinterm Haus ist eine weitere kleine Terrasse, auf der wir auch noch im Oktober morgens in der Sonne frühstücken konnten. Einzig eine Spülmaschine hätte mir gefehlt, um mein Glück vollkommen zu machen ;-) Graham kümmerte sich im Vorfeld prompt und freundlich um unseren Aufenthalt. Seine detaillierte Wegbeschreibung brachte uns sicher ans Ziel. Hierfür wie auch für den warmherzigen Empfang vor Ort durch Joy und Ian ganz herzlichen Dank! Auch der Ort Arillas - und vor allem der schöne lange Sandstrand mit dem ruhigen Nacktbadebereich unterhalb der Steilküste - war ein "Treffer". Es gibt gediegene Restaurants, Einkaufsmöglichkeiten für den täglichen Bedarf und in der Nachsaison vor allem viel Ruhe!
